Where Farmers meet a helping hand...

Agriculture is and always has been the last resort in any testing circumstances. However, it is not as attractive to Nepali youth and they would rather search for mediocre paying opportunities than stay back in Nepal and venture in agriculture. As a consequence, more than 10% of the active population flies abroad in search of jobs and a promising future. However unlikely it might be to land a high paying job abroad, some do manage to capitalise on the opportunities they see.

The population that move abroad for higher education or for jobs rarely return back to Nepal. They weigh the shambolic political system, the pollution, and the lack of jobs which match their qualifications against a relatively stable political system, availability of jobs and high pay. A fair juxtaposition clearly indicates how unattractive coming back to Nepal is to them. And they are not wrong to have such an opinion.

The political stability has always been a problem in Nepal for long and only time will tell when that is going to be resolved. Only with that resolution can we stride to solve other forthcoming issues of unemployment and brain-drain. These efforts will tire many dedicated souls and a change of such magnitude for sure will not happen in a day.

In light of these circumstances, it is then necessary for Khetaalo, an organisation with principles of complete dedication but sustained reluctance to idealism, to propose short-term solutions to these problems.
