A huge thank you to The Old Boys Club Poole for their incredible support of the Nimsdai Foundation!

This amazing group of “old boys and ladies” create garden furniture, artwork and so much more using recycled materials, and recently they very kindly handcrafted these fantastic mountains for our 14 Peaks Challenge Game. We are hugely grateful for their creativity, generosity and support.

Their contribution is a brilliant reminder that supporting charities is not only about financial donations. Sharing skills, expertise, time and creativity can make an enormous difference and have a lasting impact.

The Old Boys Club also perfectly reflects the values of our Environmental charitable pillar by reusing and repurposing recyclable materials in such innovative ways.

They are currently looking for new members, so if you would like to get involved, learn new skills and be part of a fantastic community group, please get in touch with them!

Project Horizon began in late 2023 with a clear goal: to build a safe, durable Porters’ House that meets the real needs of the community.

Building at 5,000m meant working through cold, rain, thin air and solid rock that had to be dug out by hand to lay the foundations. Progress was slow, but it was worth it.

As one porter shared: “We carry loads because we have to look after our family, and this house will help our kids study well. This house will help us sleep safely and not get sick from the weather.”

Designed with local architects and built using local labour, the new Porters’ House belongs to Lobuche, and on the 27th May, it will officially open its doors to the community it was built for.

At the Nimsdai Foundation, we’re lucky to have some incredible people raising awareness and vital funds.

The Russell Smith Family have just reached Manaslu Base Camp as part of their 14 Base Camps Challenge, inspired by 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible. While summiting the mountains wouldn’t be possible, they set out to reach all 14 base camps instead.

In the middle of busy lives, their journey is a powerful reminder that adventure isn’t reserved for elite athletes.

Every step they take is raising awareness and vital funds for educational projects in Nepal, creating opportunities for children thousands of miles away 👉 https://www.justgiving.com/page/14basecamps2026

Today is Earth Day 🌎

Each year on 22nd April, around 1 billion people across the world take action to raise awareness of the climate crisis and drive behavioural change to protect our environment.

But protecting our planet doesn’t start and end today.

From the Himalayas to our own communities, the impact of waste is visible everywhere.

Through our Big Mountain Clean Up, we’ve removed over 1,600kg of waste from some of the world’s highest peaks.

That’s why initiatives like Trash Trek matter. Because protecting the mountains begins at sea level, in our towns, our beaches, and our streets.

This Earth Day, we’re reminded that small, collective actions create real change.

Responsibility doesn’t sit at the summit. It starts with us.

Huge congratulations to our founder on his incredible world record achievement! 🙌

As he continues summiting the world’s highest peaks, there’s a unique opportunity, as part of his 14 Peaks challenge, for your brand to be part of the journey. Imagine your flag featured on some of the highest mountains on Earth alongside a world record holder.

Even better, 100% of the funds from this initiative go directly towards supporting the impactful work of the Nimsdai Foundation.

Our second Trash Trek 💪

On Sunday 12th, our community came together again at Durley Chine Beach, collecting over 98kg of waste.

Inspired by our Big Mountain Clean Up, we’re taking the same responsibility we carry into the mountains and putting it into action closer to home.

Get in touch if you’d like to join our next Trash Trek! 🧹🌎

Porters make Everest possible.

Our new Porter House is nearly complete, a warm, safe place built for those who carry the mountains on their backs.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

The Nimsdai Foundation is proud to reveal that our Executive Director, Glen Mallen, is preparing for his most daring expedition yet…

He will attempt to summit the highest peak in Dorset — Lewesdon Hill, a staggering 915ft above sea level…

❗ Unsupported
❗ No guides
❗ No porters
❗ And, incredibly… NO OXYGEN

This bold and breathless mission is all in aid of raising funds and awareness for the vital work we do supporting mountain communities around the world.

Will Glen make it to the top? Will the altitude & strain prove too much? Stay tuned…

😂 - keep smiling
