Through the Nimsdai Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, and in strong partnership with Bighnaharta Nepal (https://bighnaharta.org/), immediate support has reached communities devastated by the recent floods.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, the team on the ground has been able to respond where help was needed most, supporting more than 120 families, running a five-day health camp that reached over 600 people, providing temporary shelter, restoring road access and distributing essential food supplies, including 500 sacks of rice.

This video, provided by Bighnaharta Nepal, shows some of the work carried out so far and the difference your support has helped make.

But the work doesn’t stop here.

We are now moving into Phase Two, focusing on longer-term support for one of the communities hit hardest by the floods.

🏆 We’re National Charity Today Awards™ finalists!

We’re incredibly proud to share that the Nimsdai Foundation has been shortlisted for the Community Impact Award 2026 for our Lobuche Porter House in Nepal.

Built to provide a safe and welcoming place for porters to rest and shelter at over 5,000m in the Himalayas, the Porter House represents our commitment to supporting the mountain communities at the heart of everything we do.

This recognition is a proud moment for everyone connected with the Foundation and this project.

A huge thank you to our team, volunteers, supporters and wider community who helped make the Lobuche Porter House possible.

🌙 TWO WEEKS TO GO! 🌅

There’s still time to join us for Dusk till Dawn: The Seaside Switchback.

On Saturday 26th September, we’ll set off from Hamworthy and take on 22 miles through the night, finishing at Hengistbury Head as the sun comes up.

This event is about coming together, pushing ourselves and continuing Nimsdai’s legacy through the work of the Nimsdai Foundation.

It’s fantastic to see the Elite Exped team and others at Manaslu taking action to clear old ropes and waste from the mountain, helping to protect the environment and make the route safer for those who climb it.

Last week, teams were working between Camp 1 and Base Camp, bringing down old ropes alongside plastic, cans, bottles and other waste from the mountain.

It’s exactly the kind of action at the heart of our Big Mountain Clean Up.

From major clean ups on some of the world’s highest mountains to our community Trash Treks here in the UK, Big Mountain Clean Up is about something simple: all of us playing our part to look after the places we’re so lucky to experience.

And that doesn’t always need to mean a huge organised clean up. Every old rope brought down, every piece of rubbish collected and every person choosing to leave a place better than they found it contributes to that bigger mission.

Respect for the mountains and protecting these incredible environments was something Nirmal Purja MBE - NIMSDAI cared so deeply about, and that shared commitment remains at the heart of Big Mountain Clean Up.

Last year, we walked through the night together. 🌙

Miles around Poole Harbour, tired legs, plenty of laughs and an incredible group of people coming together to support the Nimsdai Foundation.

This year, Dusk till Dawn feels especially meaningful as we come together to remember Nirmal Purja MBE - NIMSDAI, celebrate the spirit he brought to everything he did, and continue supporting the work and causes he cared so deeply about.

International Day of Charity

Today, we celebrate the people, organisations and communities around the world who believe that together, we can create meaningful change.

At the Nimsdai Foundation, our work is international by nature.  Our aim is simple: to use opportunity, resources and the generosity of others to help mountain communities thrive.

As a community, we believe meaningful impact happens when we work together.

When individuals and businesses give.
When organisations share their resources.
When communities come together.
And when people turn compassion into action.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the Nimsdai Foundation,  our donors, partners, volunteers, supporters and the many people who have simply shared our story. That support, collaboration and shared belief in what is possible enables us to keep moving forward and reaching further.

📢 UPDATE

Following our urgent appeal for those affected by the catastrophic Nepal–Tibet flash floods, today we received this update from our trusted NGO partner, Bighnaharta Nepal, who are on the ground delivering emergency support.

This is Phase One: Immediate Emergency Relief and Humanitarian Response.

Working together, we are establishing a temporary relief camp in one of the worst affected areas, providing displaced families with safe shelter, food, sanitation, essential supplies and access to healthcare. The camp will initially support around 200 people.

This is the first stage of our response. Your donations will also support Phase Two: Recovery and Reconstruction, helping communities restore drinking water, agricultural land and livelihoods, schools and local health facilities.

This response is only possible by working in partnership and coming together when it matters most. A huge thank you to Bighnaharta Nepal, their teams on the ground, and every single person who has donated and supported our appeal so far 💚

Yesterday, Nepal was hit by devastating flash flooding after an ice and rock collapse high in the Himalayas sent a powerful surge of water, mud and debris through the valleys near the Nepal–Tibet border. The scale of the destruction has been overwhelming, with communities, roads, bridges and infrastructure badly affected.

Nepal is at the heart of who we are. It was Nimsdai’s home, the place that shaped him and the spirit, strength and determination he carried with him throughout his life. Those same values are woven into Elite Exped, and our connection to Nepal, its mountains and its people runs incredibly deep. To see communities there facing such devastation is heartbreaking.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected and with the communities now facing the difficult days ahead.

On the ground, Elite Exped is working with our partners to assess what is needed most urgently. We are looking at essential supplies, temporary shelters and other practical support that can be provided to affected communities in the coming days.

We have also released immediate disaster relief funds through the Nimsdai Foundation and are now looking carefully at the next steps, working with those on the ground to understand where the funding can have the greatest impact.

We are absolutely heartbroken to see the news of the devastating flooding today across the Nepal-Tibet border region.

Our thoughts are with the families, communities and everyone facing the unimaginable consequences of this disaster.
