🧪📊 Research examines the readiness of health facilities in Nepal to deliver HIV testing and counseling and tuberculosis services, using data from the 2021 Nepal Health Facility Survey.
🔍 Key findings
• Overall readiness for HIV and TB services was moderate at 51 percent
• Stand-alone HTC centers and public hospitals showed higher readiness
• Basic health care centers, private facilities, and rural facilities had lower readiness
• Quality assurance systems were associated with better readiness
• Provincial variation was observed, with Sudurpashchim showing relatively higher readiness

Our findings highlight the significant burden of IPV and mental health challenges faced by women in Nepal, emphasizing the critical role of informal support systems and accessible services in addressing these issues.
We hope this research contributes to strengthening policy responses, support mechanisms, and health interventions to protect and empower women.

Successful Completion of 5-Day Intensive Workshop on Writing & Publishing Scientific Papers!
We are excited to announce the successful completion of the 5-day intensive workshop titled "How to Write a Scientific Paper and Get It Published for Biomedical Field and Quantitative Research" organized jointly by University of California San Francisco (UCSF), USA and Public Health and Environment Research Centre (PERC), Nepal. This workshop took place from March 2-6, 2025 in Lalitpur, Nepal.
The workshop attracted participants from all provinces of Nepal, including government officials, university faculty, researchers, and professionals from public health organizations. The attendees had varied expertise, from associate professors and PhD students to clinicians and M&E experts.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants, speakers, and organizers for making this workshop a resounding success!

The Public Health and Environment Research Center (PERC) is delighted to announce multiple vacancies. A total of 40 candidates will be recruited for various positions on an 18-month contractual basis. We encourage motivated individuals to apply by scanning the QR code or accessing the link provided.
1. Field Researcher: Candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health who are interested in an 18-month research engagement are encouraged to apply.
