As the monsoon season continues, flood-prone communities in Banke District remain at high risk. To help families stay prepared, Caritas Nepal distributed 1,952 Emergency Go Bags along with waterproof safe-keeping bags to vulnerable households in Rapti Sonari, Duduwa and Narainapur Rural Municipalities under the PREPARE and PRABL projects.

The distribution, carried out in coordination with local governments and community stakeholders, reached vulnerable households, Farmer Field School (FFS) members and Kishori Sambad Group members. Beneficiaries also received orientation on household preparedness and the proper use of the Go Bags, helping them protect themselves and their essential belongings during emergencies.

Together, we are strengthening community resilience and ensuring that vulnerable families are better prepared for disasters.

PRABL: Supported by START READY/START NETWORK and CRS Nepal.
PREPARE: Supported by CRS Nepal.

Yesterday on, World Refugee Day, we mark the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention, a landmark commitment to protect people forced to flee persecution, violence and conflict.
Seventy-five years later, nearly 118 million people worldwide remain forcibly displaced.
This year's theme, Until Everyone Is Safe, is a reminder that safety, dignity and protection are fundamental rights for all.
Caritas Internationalis joins the call to uphold the spirit and principles of the Refugee Convention, strengthen protection for displaced people, and build communities of welcome, inclusion and hope.
