Under the Nepal Flood and Landslide Recovery Project Bagmati 2025, supported by Caritas Italiana and facilitated by UCEP Nepal in coordination with Mahankal Rural Municipality, a 7-day Mason Training was successfully conducted from 11–17 May 2026.
A total of 20 local masons enhanced their skills on earthquake-resistant construction, building codes, and safe use of construction materials to support resilient rebuilding in the community. During the monitoring visit, Vice President Dolma Maya Gola thanked Caritas Nepal and shared that the trained masons will play an important role in safe reconstruction after the flood and landslide disaster.

Under the UTHAN Project, supported by Caritas Nepal, Caritas Germany, and CRS Nepal, and implemented by PACE Nepal in coordination with Tilagufa Municipality, a 5-day masonry training on Lime Stabilized Soil (LSS) technology was successfully conducted in Tilagufa Municipality, Kalikot, from 11–16 April 2026.

The training oriented local masons on earthquake-resistant construction techniques, building codes, and the use of locally available materials. A total of 16 skilled masons participated and enhanced their understanding of material quality and correct proportions for safer construction practices.

As part of the practical learning, a demo shelter using LSS technology was completed, showcasing sustainable and resilient construction methods for local adoption.

Participants have committed to promoting safe construction practices and building structures in line with earthquake safety standards, contributing to long-term community resilience.

By supporting the transportation and market linkage of fresh vegetables, this initiative ensures that farmers can sell their produce more efficiently and at better value. Caritas Nepal warmly welcomed a delegation from Caritas Poland during their field visit to project locations in Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, and Sindhuli.

Under the ARAMVA (Agriculture Resilience and Adaptive Market Value Addition) Project implemented by Caritas Nepal, five Earth Day celebration events were successfully conducted in Nawalpur Ba.Su.Pu. During these events, VRPs facilitated interactive sessions highlighting the importance of our planet and our shared responsibility to protect it. Discussions focused on the current impacts of climate change globally and in Nepal, including rising temperatures, unpredictable rainfall, and increased natural disasters. Participants were encouraged to adopt environmentally friendly practices and take collective action to conserve natural resources and safeguard the Earth for future generations.
