During our visit to Rasuwa, we had the opportunity to speak with Rajesh Bista, Health Assistant at Briddhim Health Post, about the situation facing health facilities and communities following the recent floods.

Rajesh shared what he has seen on the ground, from the continuation of temporary health services and the need for medicines and essential health supplies, to the urgent need for temporary health facilities, safe drinking water, electricity, and psychosocial support.

The devastating floods of 26 August 2026 have deeply affected communities across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, including Betrawati, leaving homes, livelihoods, and infrastructure damaged.

In response, SDA provided relief supplies to the temporary municipal office in Dhunche, Rasuwa, for 55 households, including food and non-food items, 50 newborn and child support kits, dignity kits, and essential health supplies for one health facility.

But recovery will take time and continued support. In this difficult time, we urge everyone to stand in solidarity with affected communities, support relief efforts, and help one another rebuild.

In Nepali culture, Vishwakarma Puja is an important occupational festival dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma, revered as the patron deity of engineers, architects, artisans, mechanics, and factory workers. Celebrated across the country on Asoj 1, the day is an opportunity to express gratitude for the tools, machinery, vehicles, and other resources that support our daily work and livelihoods.

At SDA, our work often takes us beyond the office, to schools, health centres, and communities in the areas where we work. Our vehicles have been an important part of these journeys, trusted companions that carry our teams, supplies, and equipment over long distances and challenging roads, and bring us safely back home.

Here’s to the vehicles that keep us moving, and to the people behind every journey.
