In the month of June, Shangri-La Development Association (SDA), in coordination with local health institutions, distributed Newborn Support Packages to two mothers who completed all eight antenatal care (ANC) checkups as per the Government of Nepal's protocol and delivered them at health facilities.

The support packages included 18 essential items for mothers and their newborns, such as maternity pads, petticoats, undergarments, baby blankets, and baby napkins, providing immediate support during the postnatal period.

This initiative encourages regular antenatal care visits and institutional deliveries, contributing to improved maternal and newborn health outcomes in the community.

🌱 Real change begins with practical learning. Through SDA's On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, four technical education students are turning classroom knowledge into real-world impact.

With continuous guidance and mentorship from our Agriculture Project team, the trainees are developing practical skills in farmer group facilitation, vegetable production, nursery management, organic compost preparation, crop and livestock management, animal health care, record keeping, report writing, and digital documentation.

Today's trainees are tomorrow's changemakers. 💚

🌿 On World Environment Day 2026, SDA, in collaboration with Bhawani Secondary School and Shree Srijanshil Bal Club, brought together students, community members, local representatives, and our team for a day of learning, action, and environmental stewardship in Kailash Rural Municipality.

Through a market clean-up campaign, awareness rally, and speech competition, students and community members came together to highlight the importance of environmental conservation, climate action, and the adoption of sustainable practices for future generations.

At SDA, we believe that environmental sustainability is a shared responsibility. Our commitment extends beyond a single day of celebration through our ongoing work in organic farming, agroforestry, biodiversity conservation, and community-led environmental initiatives. By empowering young people and communities to become environmental champions, we are contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future.
