We are excited to share that TSK will be part of 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞’𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥 from 17–21 August 2026.
This workshop bringing together an inspiring feminist leader from 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡, 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚, 𝐌𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥, 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐚, creating a vibrant space for learning, reflection, collaboration and exchange of experiences on advancing gender justice and social transformation.
As part of the workshop, 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐣𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚, 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 will facilitate one of the interactive learning session drawing on her experiences and practice in feminist storytelling, leadership and social change.
We are proud to be part of this collective learning journey and look forward to the new knowledge, connections and inspiration that will emerge through learning across generations, cultures and lived experiences. These learnings will further strengthen our commitment to gender justice, inclusive leadership and social transformation.

Journalist and feminist advocate Gardika Bajracharya leads programs with The Story Kitchen, using journalism and storytelling to amplify women whose experiences have too often been overlooked.

Her work is rooted in the belief that changing the stories we tell can also change the systems we live in.

At the workshop, she'll encourage participants to use storytelling as a pathway toward justice and inclusion.

On the second day of the Second National Memory Conference, The Story Kitchen joined in a panel discussion titled “𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭-𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥’𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞.”
The session brought together advocates and experts who have been working closely with survivors. Panelists included 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐊 (The Story Kitchen), 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲 (Survivor Activist and CVWN Board Member), 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥 (Nagarik Aawaz), 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚 (Advocacy Forum / International Commission of Jurists), and 𝐇𝐮𝐠𝐨 𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐞 (Global Survivors Fund). The discussion was moderated by 𝐆𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢 from the Conflict Victims Women National Network.
The discussion highlighted the importance of recognizing the experiences of survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in Nepal’s transitional justice process. Panelists stressed that CRSV is a serious violation that must be acknowledged and addressed through justice and accountability. The session also emphasized the importance of collective memory. No survivor should be left behind, and no story should go unheard. CRSV survivors must be meaningfully included in the transitional justice process with safe and supportive space that enable them to share their experiences without fear, stigma or discrimination.

The panel featured 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲, Chairperson of Conflict Victim Committee (CVC), 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐝𝐞𝐥, Justice Reporter and Coordinator of the Truth Documenters’ National Network (TDNN), 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢, Chairperson of National Network of Disabled Conflict Victims (NNDCV) and 𝐍𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲, Chairperson of Kumbharadda Disappeared People's Memorial Park.The discussion was moderated by 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐢, Co-founder of The Story Kitchen.
Drawing from their own experiences, the panelists shared powerful reflections on the importance of preserving memories, documenting lived histories and leading survivor led advocacy for truth and justice. The discussion emphasized the vital role of collective memory in ensuring that the voices of survivors are documented, recognized and passed on to future generations.

We had the opportunity to share The Story Kitchen’s work with women survivors of Nepal’s armed conflict, particularly survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, at the European Commission in Brussels.

The discussion focused on the importance of survivor-led truth documentation, healing, memory, dignity, justice, and survivor-led knowledge in peacebuilding and transitional justice. We also reflected on the longstanding support of European Union in Nepal to The Story Kitchen for peacebuilding, human rights, gender equality, and transitional justice initiatives in Nepal.
