On 15 July 2026, NYCA successfully conducted a school awareness session on climate change at Oasis English School, Lalitpur, engaging students from Grades 9 and 10.
The session introduced students to the fundamentals of climate change, helping them understand the difference between weather and climate, the greenhouse effect, the impacts of rising global temperatures and the role of human activities in accelerating climate change. Through interactive discussions, a video presentation and a quiz, students explored how climate change is affecting our planet and the actions we can take to reduce its impact.
To make the learning experience more engaging, students participated in a creative group activity where they expressed their understanding of climate change through drama, poetry, speeches and artwork. Their presentations reflected thoughtful perspectives on issues such as deforestation, melting glaciers, biodiversity, sustainable practices and even the environmental impacts of emerging technologies.
The enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity showed by the students made the session both interactive and inspiring. Their active participation highlighted how engaging learning spaces can encourage young people to think critically about climate issues and become informed advocates for a more sustainable future.
