Tailoring is not easy. And mastering tailoring takes even more.

Behind every finished product is hours of patience, practice, precision, and hard work. From taking measurements and cutting the fabric to sewing, correcting mistakes, and adding the finishing touches, creating a single product from scratch takes time.

What may look like a simple piece of clothing is often the result of countless small decisions, careful hands, and a lot of persistence.

Mastering the craft doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time to learn, time to practice, and the patience to keep going, one stitch at a time.

A little moment from the final day of Aari embroidery.

Batch C has now completed their Aari embroidery workshop, one of the many skills covered in their 8-month training journey. With 12 participants, they are currently in their 7th month of the program, continuing to learn, practice, and build on their skills.

One workshop comes to an end, but there is still more learning, creating, and growing ahead.

*Thinking of all the women and families affected by the floods in Rasuwa and Nuwakot.*

Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods. As communities begin to process what has happened and face the difficult road ahead, we hope for strength, solidarity, and the support needed to rebuild lives and livelihoods.

The women pictured are from SAATH’s second batch of trainees in 2016, who joined us in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake. Their journey reminds us of the strength and resilience it takes to rebuild after a disaster, and the importance of standing together through it.

We recently wrapped up a training conducted in collaboration with and Himali Conservation Forum in Taplejung, bringing together women eager to build new skills with handwoven allo fabric.

In these photos, participants proudly pose with the products they made during the training, each piece a reflection of their hard work, creativity, and growing confidence.

A huge thanks to Rosana and Sujana, who joined to facilitate the training and guide participants through the process!

Grateful for partners like Red Panda Network and Himali Conservation Forum for making this collaboration possible, and to the incredible women of Taplejung for their dedication throughout.
