Hon. Representatives on Advancing CEDAW General Recommendation No. 39

During the interaction programme on CEDAW General Recommendation No. 39, Hon. Dr. Sujata Tamang, Hon. Suresh Kumar Ale Magar, Hon. Prem Bahadur Bayak, and Hon. Subodh Singh Tharu, Acting Chairperson of the Tharu Commission, underscored the importance of strengthening inclusive and rights-based lawmaking through meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

The speakers emphasized the need to adopt an intersectional approach in policy and legislative processes, ensure the effective implementation of recommendations made by constitutional commissions, and hold the State accountable for fulfilling its obligations. They also highlighted the importance of increasing the participation and representation of Indigenous women and other marginalized groups in decision-making processes.

During the interaction program on CEDAW General Recommendation No. 39, Hon. Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hon. Dr. Pramila Kumari Gachchhadar, Hon. Gita Kumari Sendang and Hon. Purna Prasad Limbu, emphasized the importance of well-informed lawmakers in strengthening effective, inclusive, and rights-based legislation.

They collectively highlighted the need for continuous dialogue, orientation, and engagement on CEDAW GR-39 and other rights-based issues. All three Hon. Members expressed their commitment to advancing the effective implementation of CEDAW and advocating for related issues through sustained parliamentary engagement.

आदिवासी जनजाति उत्थान राष्ट्रिय प्रतिष्ठान (NFDIN) र राष्ट्रिय आदिवासी जनजाति अपाङ्ग संघ नेपाल (Nidwan) को संयुक्त आयोजनामा महिला विरुद्ध हुने सबै प्रकारका भेदभाव उन्मूलन सम्बन्धी महासन्धि (सिड) र यसको सामान्य सिफारिस नम्बर ३९ को प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयनका लागि संघीय सांसद तथा सरोकारवालाबीच एकदिने अन्तरक्रिया तथा अभिमुखीकरण कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न गरिएको छ । यस हालै सम्पन्न कार्यक्रमलाई प्राथमिकता दिँदै समाचार प्रकाशन गरिदिनुभएकोमा GOL Khabar प्रति हार्दिक धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्दछौँ ।

"अधिकारको सुनिश्चितता, सहभागिताको सुदृढीकरण र समावेशी विकास "♿🤝
अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरूको अधिकारसम्बन्धी महासन्धि (CRPD) को स्थानीय तहमा कार्यान्वयनको अवस्था सम्बन्धी अभिमुखीकरण कार्यक्रम सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न भएको छ।
स्थानीय तहमा CRPD को प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयन, अधिकारमा आधारित समावेशी नीति तथा कार्यक्रमको प्रवर्द्धन, अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरूको अर्थपूर्ण सहभागिता सुनिश्चित गर्ने तथा स्थानीय सरकारको जिम्मेवारीलाई थप प्रभावकारी बनाउने उद्देश्यले आयोजित कार्यक्रममा अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरू, सरोकारवाला निकाय तथा समुदायका प्रतिनिधिहरूको सक्रिय सहभागिता रहेको थियो।
Nidwan ले अपाङ्गता भएका आदिवासी महिला, अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरू तथा अन्य सीमान्तकृत समुदायको अधिकार संरक्षण, क्षमता अभिवृद्धि, नेतृत्व विकास, सचेतना अभिवृद्धि तथा नीति पैरवीमार्फत समावेशी र अधिकारमैत्री समाज निर्माणका लागि निरन्तर कार्य गर्दै आएको छ। यस्ता अभिमुखीकरण कार्यक्रमहरूले स्थानीय तहमा अधिकारको प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयनलाई सुदृढ बनाउँदै समावेशी, न्यायपूर्ण र उत्तरदायी शासन प्रणालीको विकासमा महत्वपूर्ण योगदान पुर्‍याइरहेका छन्।

महिला विरुद्ध हुने सबै प्रकारका भेदभाव उन्मूलन सम्बन्धी महासन्धि (सिड) र यसको सामान्य सिफारिस नम्बर ३९ को प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयन” विषयक संघीय सांसदहरू तथा सरोकारवालाहरूसँग अन्तरक्रिया तथा अभिमुखीकरण कार्यक्रम

सिड (CEDAW) को सामान्य सिफारिस नम्बर ३९ को प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयनका लागि संघीय सांसदहरूसँग अन्तरक्रिया तथा अभिमुखीकरण कार्यक्रम आदिवासी जनजाति उत्थान राष्ट्रिय प्रतिष्ठान (NFDIN) र राष्ट्रिय आदिवासी जनजाति अपाङ्ग महिला संघ–नेपाल (Nidwan को समुक्त आयोजनामा सम्पन्न भएको छ।) कार्यक्रममा सिडको सामान्य सिफारिस नम्बर ३९ को महत्व, आदिवासी महिला तथा अपाङ्गता भएका महिलाले भोग्दै आएका अन्तरछेदीय विभेद (Intersectionality) र यसको नीतिगत तथा संस्थागत कार्यान्वयनका विषयमा प्रस्तुति Pratima Gurung ले दिनुभएको थियो र सहभागी संघीय सांसदहरूले सिफारिस नम्बर ३९ सम्बन्धी जानकारी महत्वपूर्ण र नयाँ सिकाइ भएको उल्लेख गर्दै यसलाई नीतिगत बहस र संसदीय प्रक्रियामा उठाउने प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त गर्नुभयो। संघीय सांसदहरूमा माननीय Ale Magar, माननीय Dr. Sujata Tamang, माननीय Dr. Kumari Gachhadar, माननीय Kumari Sendang, माननीय krishna Shrestha, माननीय Prasad Limbu, माननीय Bahadur Bayak, थारु आयोगका अध्यक्ष Singh Tharu, हरूले साथै, नेपालले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय महासन्धि अनुमोदन गरे पनि कार्यान्वयन पक्ष अझै कमजोर रहेको भन्दै प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयनमा हामी सबैले ध्यान दिनुपर्ने, समावेशी नीति निर्माणलाई प्राथमिकता दिनुपर्ने र सरोकारवाला निकायबीच समन्वय सुदृढ गर्नुपर्ने धारणा व्यक्त गर्नुभयो।

कार्यक्रमले सिडको सामान्य सिफारिस नम्बर ३९ को बुझाइलाई थप स्पष्ट बनाउनुका साथै यसको प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयन र आदिवासी अपाङ्गता भएका महिलाका अधिकार सुनिश्चित गर्न साझा प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त गर्ने महत्वपूर्ण अवसर प्रदान गरेको छ।

From local to the Global Stage: A Voice That Continues to Inspire Change🙌

Nidwan is proud to share that the leadership and insights of our President, Ms. Pratima Gurung, have been prominently featured throughout the international publication "Representing Women and Girls with Disabilities at the COSP and UN-CSW, 2021 and 2022: Analysis of Interviews." Her reflections appear across multiple sections of the report, helping frame discussions on intersectionality, Indigenous rights, disability inclusion, climate justice, policy influence, and grassroots leadership.
