Karuna Foundation Nepal and Prerana have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen access to appropriate wheelchair services for persons with disabilities in Nepal.
Through this collaboration, the two organizations will work together on the assessment, fitting, distribution, and follow-up support of wheelchairs, helping ensure that each wheelchair reaches an eligible person based on their individual needs and suitability. The partnership also includes technical training, user orientation, safe-use guidance, and maintenance support to promote effective and sustained use.
More than providing an assistive device, this collaboration is about supporting mobility, independence, dignity, participation, and greater access to education, employment, health services, and community life.
We look forward to working together with Prerana to strengthen quality wheelchair service delivery and contribute to more inclusive communities for persons with disabilities.
