📢 Roshi River Water Level ⚠️

According to measurements taken at 9:00 PM from S4W-Nepal's Khopasi Hydrological Monitoring Station, the Roshi River water level has risen considerably since the evening. The current water level is 1.51 m, corresponding to a water surface elevation of 1342.87 m above mean sea level (AMSL).

As the water level remains high, there is a possibility of flooding in downstream areas. We request everyone living near the river to remain alert, avoid riverbanks and other high-risk areas, and stay safe.

🌧️ 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐥𝐚𝐦

Last week, S4W-Nepal, with support from the Stimson Center and in coordination with Ilam Municipality, successfully conducted a 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 in Ilam.

Through this initiative, citizen scientists from all wards of the municipality will contribute to local rainfall monitoring, helping to better understand spatial variations in rainfall patterns. The program also aims to strengthen community awareness of rainfall-triggered hazards and support informed decision-making for disaster risk reduction.

Together, we are empowering communities to generate valuable hydro-meteorological data through citizen science.
