KAT Centre

KAT Centre KAT Centre is a non-profit organization established to promote animal welfare in Nepal. Please read more about our work in detail: www.katcentre.org

KAT Centre was founded in 2004 by Jan Salter, a British woman living in Nepal who was determined to find a humane solution to the problem of street dog over-population. In our sixteen year history, we have grown steadily to the point where we are now the biggest and oldest animal welfare organisation in Nepal. As we have grown, our location has changed several times, but the founding principals an

d our work remain the same:

- To rescue and treat sick and injured animals living on the streets of Kathmandu.
- To lower the street dog (and cat) population by spaying and neutering.
- To reduce the incidence of rabies and other viruses through vaccination and education.
- To promote animal welfare in the widest sense of the term. We are constantly looking ahead and developing our long term strategy for the continued management and protection of the street animals of Kathmandu.

Even with her age and everything she has already overcome in life, she still greets us with that calm, happy spirit that never seems to fade. Thereโ€™s something truly special about her resilience and quiet strength.

Wishing this beautiful old soul a safe and speedy recovery, with lots of love and care surrounding her ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿถ

Meet Dalli ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ
She came to us weak, sick with worms and diarrhea, needing love and care. Today, Dalli is healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever home.
Her vaccinations have been started, we will provide her spay for free when she is old enough, and we will also take care of her medical care for one year.
Dalli deserves a family to love her for life. Please message us or call us at 9801912476 if youโ€™d like to adopt this sweet girl. ๐Ÿก

This brave little soul came to us after falling from a great height and suffering fractures in both of her hind legs. She is now safe under our care, receiving treatment, rest, and all the love he deserves. It will be a long road to recovery, but we are hopeful she will heal with time.

Please keep her in your prayers and send him strength for a speedy recovery. ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Healing looks like this. From Pharping to our care unit, she arrived battling CTVT and in need of urgent treatment. Today, she is fully recovered, deeply loved, and finally on her way back home with the human who never gave up on her.

Thank you to her compassionate caretaker for trusting us with her journey and standing by her every step of the way. ๐Ÿถโœจ๐Ÿ’›

If youโ€™d like to give this special boy a chance, please dm us or call us at 9801912476 ๐Ÿฑโค๏ธ

These moments are from one of our ongoing spay/neuter surgery campaign days in Godawari. Just look at how beautifully her human friend is holding her โ€” with so much care, trust, and kindness. โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ

We are truly grateful to all the community members who continue to support our mission. Whether it is bringing a sick animal for treatment, helping us safely catch street dogs for birth control surgeries, or simply showing kindness, your support makes everything possible.

Thank you for caring enough to make a difference. ๐Ÿ™

This kittenโ€™s mother was recently attacked by dogs and was brought to us in critical condition. She is now under our care and receiving treatment as she slowly recovers from her injuries. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿพ

In the midst of this difficult situation, her 1-month-old baby boy is now looking for a safe and loving home. He is too young to be on his own and needs warmth, care, and protection to grow up healthy and happy.

We are hoping to find a responsible and compassionate adopter who can give this little one the future he deserves. If you are interested in adopting him, please reach out to us ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฑ
