This week brought together two important parts of our work: standing with communities affected by the devastating floods in Rasuwa and surrounding areas, while continuing to support education for underprivileged children in Sarlahi.
We are pleased to begin by sharing that our charity screening of Elephants in the Fog was successfully held on Sunday, September 6, at QFX Cinemas, Civil Mall, Sundhara, Kathmandu.
The evening was made possible by the hard work and dedication of the entire Hoste Hainse team. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the event, from planning and coordination to promotion, ticket sales, and other preparations. We are equally grateful to everyone who attended and supported the fundraiser. The wonderful participation made the evening a special one and showed once again what can be accomplished when people come together to support a cause.
As announced earlier, 50% of the proceeds from the screening will be contributed to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to support families affected by the floods, while the remaining 50% will go toward our ongoing education initiatives for underprivileged children in Sarlahi.
In this way, the screening brought together two areas that remain central to our work: responding to communities in need during difficult times and continuing to create opportunities for children through education. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped us make this initiative possible.

While the screening provided an opportunity to raise funds, our direct relief efforts for communities affected by the Rasuwa floods are continuing.
Following our first delivery of relief materials, the second batch of Hoste Hainse Flood Relief Materials was delivered on September 8 to the District Coordination Committee Office in Bidur Municipality-4, Nuwakot.
Our team travelled to Bidur once again to coordinate the delivery. The journey from Kathmandu took approximately three hours via the Tokha–Jhor Waterfall route. Upon arrival, the collected materials were handed over to the District Coordination Committee Office, where they will be coordinated for distribution to flood-affected communities.

The District Coordination Committee Office in Bidur, Nuwakot has currently requested cooking oil, utensils, and rice grains. Those who would like to contribute in kind may consider donating these essential items.
We have now completed two rounds of relief material deliveries to the Nepal Army and District Coordination Committee Office in Bidur, Nuwakot. Moving forward, we plan to continue collecting and delivering relief materials on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on the amount collected and the needs identified in the affected communities.
We remain committed to ensuring that the support we receive reaches individuals and families affected by the floods. We will continue to share updates as our relief efforts move forward.

The scale of the devastation caused by the floods is difficult to comprehend, but every contribution, whether through donated materials or financial support through our fundraiser, helps us respond to the needs of those affected.
