We are excited to announce that the 16th edition of Samadristi Magazine is on its way.

We invite writers, practitioners, advocates, and community voices to contribute articles in Nepali or English. This edition aims to highlight perspectives on inclusion, accessibility, social justice, and community innovation.

If you have a story, insight, or experience that deserves to be heard, this is an opportunity to share it with a wider audience.

Themes include:
• Disability inclusion and accessibility
• Digital inclusion and assistive technology
• Gender and social justice
• Inclusive governance and policy
• Community stories and lived experiences

Submission details:

DPARS shortlisted for the Zero Project Awards 2026! We are happy to share that Inclusive Disability Assessment and Digital Recording System for Local Government(DPARS) has been shortlisted for the Zero Project Awards 2026! This year’s awards focus on Accessibility, ICT, and Crisis Response, and our innovative work has earned recognition among 163 outstanding solutions, selected from 586 nominations across 93 countries. We are proud to stand alongside organizations from every continent that are driving progress in disability inclusion. Being shortlisted is a significant milestone for us, reflecting our commitment to breaking systemic and digital barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from accessing government services and social protection.. We look forward to the next stages: connecting with the global community, exchanging ideas, and learning from others. The Zero Project’s selection process now continues and will involve hundreds of peer-review experts from around the world. We hope to be among this year’s Zero Project Awardees, which will be announced on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3rd). हाम्रो देश पछाडि पर्नुका अनेक कारण हुनसक्छन् र छन्। तर अहिलेको चरणमा एउटै प्रमुख कारण भन्नुपर्दा शिक्षा क्षेत्रको अनियन्त्रित व्यापारीकरण, दलीयकरण, गैरजिम्मेवारीपन, गुणस्तरहीनता, अस्तव्यस्तता, अराजकता, मनपरीतन्त्र नै हो भन्दा कुनै अतिशयोक्ति हुँदैन।

केही समयदेखि शिक्षासम्बन्धी विधेयकवारे भैरहेको राष्ट्रिय तमाशा, प्रमुख राजनीतिक दलहरूको चरम अवसरवादीता, शिक्षा व्यापारीहरूको नांगो दादागिरी, शिक्षकहरूको स्वार्थान्धता, निरीह अभिभावक र कोमल विद्यार्थीहरूको निराशालाई हेरेर कुनै पनि विवेकशील र स्वाभिमानी मान्छे शीर ननिहुराई बस्न सक्दैन।

दशकौंको बलिदानीपूर्ण संघर्षपछि निर्वाचित जनप्रतिनिधीहरूले बनाएको देशको पहिलो संविधान अर्थात् मूल कानूनमा शिक्षालाई प्रत्येक नागरिकको 'हक' मानेर स्पष्ट भाषामा धारा ३१(२) मा " प्रत्येक नागरिकलाई राज्यबाट आधारभूत तहसम्मको शिक्षा अनिवार्य र निःशुल्क तथा माध्यमिक तहसम्मको शिक्षा निःशुल्क पाउने हक हुनेछ" भनिसकेपछि कसैले कुनै पनि खोल ओढेर शिक्षाको व्यापार गर्ने र राज्यको उच्च कुर्सीमा बसेर ल्यांगल्यांग गर्ने ठाउँ कहाँ रहन्छ?

हो, कुनै धनाढ्यले परोपकारको उद्देश्यले देशको कानूनभित्र रहेर पूर्ण रूपले निःशुल्क शिक्षा प्रदान गर्नसक्छ तर मुनाफाकोनिम्ति गर्न सक्दैन र हुँदैन। उच्च शिक्षावारे हाम्रो जस्तो गरीब देशले केही समयकोनिम्ति सहायक भूमिकाको रूपमा निजी क्षेत्रको सहयोग लिनसक्छ।

यही कुरालाई ध्यान दिंदै संविधान बनिनसकेको अवस्थामा पनि मैले अर्थमन्त्रीको रूपमा २०६५/६६ को बजेट मार्फत् पहिले खुलिसकेका निजी स्कूलहरूलाई शुरूमा करको दायरामा ल्याउने र क्रमशः गैरनाफामूलक बनाउँदै अन्ततः शिक्षालाई पूर्ण रूपले राज्यको दायित्वमा ल्याउने नीति अघिसारेको थिएँ। पछिल्ला सरकारहरूले शिक्षा व्यापारीहरूको प्रभावमा परेर त्यो कसरी तुहाँउँदै लगे अथवा सरकार नै उनीहरूको कब्जामा पर्दै गयो इतिहास आफै साक्षी छ।

अव पनि संसदले संविधानको मर्म अनुरूप शिक्षासम्बन्धी कानून बनाउँदैन र सबै धनीगरीब नागरिकका छोराछोरीलाई बराबरी रूपमा गुणस्तरीय र जीवनोपयोगी शिक्षामा पहुँचको हक स्थापित गर्दैन भने जनआक्रोशको आँधीलााई कसैले पनि रोक्न सक्नेछैन।

बाग्मती प्रदेश सामाजिक बिकास मन्त्रालयको साझेदारी महालक्ष्मी नगरपालिकासंगको समन्वय तथा यस संस्थाको आयोजनामा अपाङ्गता समावेशी बिकासमा राजनैतिक, सामाजिक तथा सामाजिक आयाम विषयक अभिमुखिकरण कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न भएको छ। उद्घाटन कार्यक्रमको अध्यक्षता संस्थाका अध्यक्ष श्री टेकनाथ न्यौपाने, प्रमुख अतिथि महालक्ष्मी नगरपालिका आदरणीय नगरप्रमुख श्री हरि गोविन्द श्रेष्ठको प्रमुख आतिथ्यतामा, संयोजन तथा संचालन महासचिव ई. कृष्ण महर्जन Krish Na Maharjan , सहजकर्ताहरु राष्ट्रिय अपाङ्गता संगठनका केन्द्रिय अध्यक्ष श्री जगदीश प्रसाद अधिकारी र अपाङ्गता संगठनका केन्द्रिय अध्यक्ष श्री टिकाराम पराजुलीको आतिथ्यतामा सम्पन्न भयो । समापन कार्यक्रममा महालक्ष्मी नगरपालिकाका उपप्रमुख श्री लक्ष्मी महर्जनको प्रमुख आतिथ्यमा, महालक्ष्मी नपा वडा नं १का अध्यक्ष श्री छिरिङ्ग लामा तथा वडा सदस्यहरुको आतिथ्यतामा सम्पन्न भयो । अपाङ्गता भएका ब्यक्तीहरुको राजनैतिक, सामाजिक तथा आर्थिक रूपमा पहुँच अभिबृद्धीका लागि सबै सरोकारवालाहरुको सक्रियता, समन्वय र योजना निर्माणमा सबै एकजुट भएर लाग्नुपर्ने जोड दिईएकाे थियो । कार्यक्रममा केही तस्बिरहरु ।
