🎉 A proud milestone for NAAMII and Nepal’s AI community! 🇳🇵

We are thrilled to share that a medical AI platform for lower-limb medical image analysis and surgical planning, with its core AI research and development led by our MAP-MED Lab at NAAMII for U.S.-based medical technology company Planning Logic AI, has officially received U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance.

For us, this is more than a regulatory milestone. It demonstrates that high-quality, clinically validated medical AI can be researched and developed in Nepal to meet the technical, clinical, quality, and regulatory requirements of the U.S. healthcare market.

Our team contributed across AI algorithm development, validation, clinical evaluation, and rigorous regulatory documentation, reflecting the dedication and technical strength of our multidisciplinary researchers and engineers.

We are deeply grateful to the clinicians, regulatory experts, consultants, executive leadership, collaborators, and industry partners who supported this journey.

🚀 We are also expanding our team to continue the R&D on this project. Researchers and engineers with 3–5 years of experience in medical imaging, medical AI, or related fields, as well as PhD graduates and researchers with relevant expertise, are encouraged to contact us at [email protected].

This is a proud moment for NAAMII, our MAP-MED Lab, and Nepal’s growing AI ecosystem. We look forward to continuing to build world-class medical AI from Nepal for global impact.

Last week, NAAMII delivered a two-day AI Native Training at St. Xavier's College, Maitighar with the focus on helping participants build the practical skills and confidence to work with AI effectively and responsibly.

Participants explored how to build AI assistants, work with AI-generated outputs, and apply thoughtful judgment when using AI in real-world settings.

Held from August 10–11, 2026, the training was conducted as part of the EU UDAAN Programme, supporting young people in developing the digital skills needed to navigate an increasingly AI-driven future.

A sincere thank you to all the participants for their enthusiasm and engagement, and to the St. Xavier’s College team for helping make the session a meaningful success.

Young people today are entering a world where AI will be part of almost every career.

So the question is not whether young people will encounter AI.

It’s whether they will have the skills to understand it, use it, question it, and build with it.

Through UDAAN, NAAMII is working towards making AI skills accessible to young people across disciplines.

Our three-tier AI Pyramid, from foundational understanding to practical AI fluency and deeper AI skills, is one way we’re thinking about that journey.

On International Youth Day, we’re excited to keep building towards a generation that is not just adapting to AI, but actively shaping how it is used.

Thank you for the incredible enthusiasm we've received. Before we close applications, this is the **final call** for anyone still considering applying.

We're launching an elite research cohort at The Bhaweshwar Das Center for Advanced Studies (BDCAS) at NAAMII and we're inviting the people who want to shape the mathematics behind the next generation of machine learning.

This is a 45-hour in-person masterclass in Kathmandu, built for three audience segments:

â–¸ Industry: see model collapse coming before it costs you credits.
â–¸ Faculty & academics: measure where smooth-math assumptions break on real networks.
â–¸ Students & research fellows: a hands-on JAX lab to understand why training flatlines, and how to break out.

Led by Dr. Prasoon Saurabh, Founding Lead & PI, BDCAS.

Could that be you?

**Final call** to register your Expression of Interest via the link. 👇

Can Advanced Algebraic Geometry Solve One of Quantum Chemistry's Toughest Bottlenecks?

QuMorpheus is a groundbreaking computational framework that models conical intersections, critical, non-Hermitian singularities where molecules rapidly switch between electronic energy states.

Developed by Dr. Prasoon Saurabh, founding lead at BDCAS at NAAMII, the framework moves beyond standard numerical approximations and data-driven heuristics, offering an analytical pathway through one of the most computationally challenging problems in photochemistry, molecular dynamics, and materials science.
