On June 8, SDSS, Joni's House with Sundar Dhoka (JHwSD) Project had the privilege of presenting the findings of our Baseline Disability Survey conducted in Rajpur Municipality.

We were honored to share the key findings and officially hand over and get approval of the findings to the Deputy Mayor, Chief Administrative Officer, ward representatives, and the municipality team. This data will serve as an important foundation for planning and implementing disability-inclusive programs and services within the municipality.

It is a great honor for SDSS and Joni and Friends to work alongside the municipality in this meaningful ways to empower the people with disabilities.

4th June holds a special place in the SDSS family as we remember and honor the birthday of our founding Executive Director, Mr. Bikash Adhikari.

Jawalakhel Wheelchair Sports Club successfully organized the first LMC Cup 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on 30 May 2026 at St. Xavier's School, Jawalakhel, supported by Lalitpur Metropolitan City. Competing against five other teams, Bikash Shield claimed the championship title, scoring 13 points in the final match against the Armed Police Force (APF). The team was awarded a trophy, medals, and a cash prize of NPR 15,000.

Congratulations to all the participating teams for making the tournament a great success!

Sundar Dhoka Saathi Sewa (SDSS) was honored to participate in the Inter-Ministerial Dialogue on “Inclusive Policy, Programs, and Budget for Persons with Autism (Inter-ministerial dialogue of Sudurpaschim); Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value,” organized by the National Autism Care Center Society Nepal (NACCSN) on 25th May 2026 in Dhangadhi, Sudurpaschim Province.

During the program, Ms. Rajuna Singh, Disability Inclusion Officer at SDSS, highlighted key challenges related to disability inclusion, the lack of awareness within communities, the importance of special and inclusive education, and the urgent need for caregiver support for persons with autism.

The dialogue brought together honorable ministers from the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, along with secretaries, government representatives, and other stakeholders. Government officials also shared disability-related data from the Government of Nepal during the session.

SDSS remains committed to advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of persons with autism and their families through collaborative action and inclusive development initiatives.

The successful inauguration of the Bikash Wheelchair/Mobility AT Repair Centre by National Autism Care Center Society Nepal (NACCSN) in Dhangadhi, Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal, on 25th May 2026, marks an important step toward providing accessible and reliable local wheelchair repair services and strengthening mobility support for the community. This initiative aims to ensure accessible and dependable wheelchair and mobility repair services at the local level.

20th May 2026: We are delighted to celebrate the successful completion of the elective course-Inclusive Design in Architecture by the students of the Department of Architecture, Pulchowk Engineering Campus IOE, TU, Batch 078

To honor their dedication and effort in making this course meaningful and successful, we proudly presented the Sundar Dhoka Accessibility Award 2026 to all 17 students.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the Department of Head and Faculty for recognizing and enrolling this course. We are hopeful for continuation and also promoting this as main course.
