Why do Chepang need a house?
The Chepang tribe are still among the poorest of the poor.
Due to lack of good education, lack of land, and the fact that most of the land is in the mountainous forests and jungles, it does not yield much. However, due to the problem of having many children due to illiteracy, they are still in poverty. Due to such challenges, this indigenous group, which is backward in everything, is forced to live without a house due to various natural such as landslides, fires, and dilapidated conditions. Not only that, but many people do also not have their own land and have been living on other people's land and at some point, they have to leave it and cannot build another one, so they have to live without a house. Due to these reasons, they are also unable to build a house themselves. And due to various political and illiteracy reasons, they are also deprived of the facilities available from government agencies and even if they get them, they are not able to complete the documents due to the government's policies and regulations. Due to these reasons, our Chepang House Reconstruction Program was started and till date we have built 9 houses. There are numerous such families and among them, we are working on building houses by giving priority to the most deprived families. In the meantime, we have made a plan to build a house for the family of Sandesh Praja and Apiksha Praja of Ward No. 10, Dharapani, Rapti Municipality, as a 10th house. They are living in a very dilapidated house. We need your support and prayers to complete this work. I hope that the Lord will provide.
