Why do Chepang need a house?
The Chepang tribe are still among the poorest of the poor.
Due to lack of good education, lack of land, and the fact that most of the land is in the mountainous forests and jungles, it does not yield much. However, due to the problem of having many children due to illiteracy, they are still in poverty. Due to such challenges, this indigenous group, which is backward in everything, is forced to live without a house due to various natural such as landslides, fires, and dilapidated conditions. Not only that, but many people do also not have their own land and have been living on other people's land and at some point, they have to leave it and cannot build another one, so they have to live without a house. Due to these reasons, they are also unable to build a house themselves. And due to various political and illiteracy reasons, they are also deprived of the facilities available from government agencies and even if they get them, they are not able to complete the documents due to the government's policies and regulations. Due to these reasons, our Chepang House Reconstruction Program was started and till date we have built 9 houses. There are numerous such families and among them, we are working on building houses by giving priority to the most deprived families. In the meantime, we have made a plan to build a house for the family of Sandesh Praja and Apiksha Praja of Ward No. 10, Dharapani, Rapti Municipality, as a 10th house. They are living in a very dilapidated house. We need your support and prayers to complete this work. I hope that the Lord will provide.

Why is there a drinking water project in Chepang village?
Chepang society and village are facing many important challenges not only economically, socially and educationally, but also naturally. After the earthquake of 2015, most of the areas of Nepal were shaken, and due to the natural sources of clean drinking water are dried up, they are facing problems with clean drinking water. The sources that exist are also remote in some places and due to the lack of development, the situation of having to travel for hours to collect drinking water daily is still prevalent. Due to this, daily activities are being affected. Such as not being able to devote time to other work and children not going to school because of late.
In some villages, they are still forced to drink dirty water from the rivers and the small pond, which results in various diseases. I have heard from locals that there is not enough political power to get a large government drinking water project and that in some places there is a small number of houses drinking water is not developed. Some political parties give one line of pipe to 10 to 15 houses to get votes during elections and when everyone has to drink water from that, there is a problem of not getting their turn and even when they get their turn, another family takes it and does not fill the water completely and there is an atmosphere of conflict.
This problem has been faced by generations. Some old people do not even know how water falls into the tap, so they have to figure it out. With the aim of freeing them from these problems and bringing change in the society and changing this cycle of drinking water shortage, we have been continuously organizing clean drinking water for the past few years. As a result, we have provided drinking water to 20 villages so far, from which hundreds of families and thousands of people are getting daily drinking water from right out the door. Which has improved and facilitated their daily lives. This project is not only improving and facilitating drinking water, but also providing work to some local Chepang youth, which has provided financial assistance to their families. Because we have been doing the construction work with local workers there.
Therefore, we need your continuous support to continue this life-changing work and to reach many places and help families facing similar problems. For which you can connect with Cutting Edge Relief. Today, there are problems in many villages, which can be seen from the proposals and prayers that have come to us. I hope for your continuous prayers and support. Thank you.
