Continuing our Knowledge Café learning series, GTA Foundation hosted an engaging session on 24th April 2026 on “Bridging the Gap: Health Equity and Social Determinants in Maternal and Child Health across LMICs.”

We were honored to have Dr. Rajeeb Kumar Sah, Associate Professor in Public Health at the University of Huddersfield and Strategic Lead International for the School of Human and Health Sciences, as our speaker. With a background as a medical doctor and extensive expertise in global health, his work focuses on mental health, maternal and child health, and health inequalities. His research highlights the importance of social determinants of health and amplifying the lived experiences of marginalized populations through interdisciplinary and community-engaged approaches.

The session was insightful, thought-provoking, and encouraged meaningful dialogue on advancing health equity in low- and middle-income countries.

Continuing the ongoing Knowledge Café Learning Series, the March edition was successfully convened on 27th March 2026, for a meaningful exchange of knowledge and perspectives.

This month’s session featured Mr. Hari Karki, Climate and Disaster Management Expert at GTA Foundation, who brings many years of extensive experience in the field. The discussion centered on the theme “Sexual and Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Settings: Experiences, Gaps and Way Forward,” exploring key challenges, existing gaps, and practical approaches to strengthening service delivery in crisis-affected contexts.

His session provided valuable insights drawn from field experience and encouraged participants to critically reflect on the importance of ensuring inclusive, accessible, and resilient sexual and reproductive health services in humanitarian settings.

Overall, the March Knowledge Café served as an engaging platform for learning, dialogue, and knowledge sharing, fostering deeper understanding and collaboration among participants.

The women of GTA Foundation celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 by embracing the spirit of womanhood through the popular “Passing the Phone” trend, sharing appreciation and light-hearted messages about one another.

Aligned with this year’s theme “Give to Gain” and the slogan “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”, the celebration highlighted the importance of supporting and uplifting each other.

Continuing the ongoing Knowledge Café Learning Series, the February edition was successfully convened on 27th February 2026, bringing together distinguished guests, development professionals, and partners for a meaningful exchange of knowledge and perspectives.

This month’s session featured Mr. Rajeeb Satyal, an experienced AI and digital innovation coach with over 25 years of engagement in the development sector. The discussion centered on the theme “Use of AI in the Development Sector,” exploring how Artificial Intelligence is increasingly becoming a practical tool for enhancing communication, strengthening outreach, improving program implementation, and supporting data driven decision making.

His session encouraged participants to view AI not as a distant concept, but as an accessible and meaningful resource that can support sustainable development efforts when applied thoughtfully.

As part of GTA Foundation’s ongoing Knowledge Café Learning Series, the January session was held on 30th January 2026 at the GTA Foundation Office, bringing together participants for an enriching and reflective learning experience.

The session was led by Dr. Surendra Karki, Veterinarian and Epidemiologist, currently serving as Livestock and One Health Advisor and Team Leader at the Emergency Center for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD), FAO Nepal, who joined us as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Karki shared valuable insights on the theme “Breaking Silos: One Health as a Way Forward for Global Health Security,” emphasizing the need for stronger collaboration across sectors to effectively address complex and evolving health threats. His presentation highlighted how integrating human, animal, and environmental health perspectives can enhance disease prevention, improve surveillance systems, and strengthen overall global health resilience.

Overall, the January Knowledge Café provided a meaningful platform for dialogue, learning, and collective thinking around advancing the One Health approach for sustainable health security.
