Ganesh Nepali, a 25-year-old ride-sharing driver from Mugu, has tragically passed away at Bir Hospital. His death follows a desperate act of self-immolation in Tripureshwor after a dispute with Kathmandu Metropolitan City municipal police over a wheel-locked motorcycle.
Ayurveda Youth Network strongly condemns the high-handedness and indifference toward working-class youth. We demand an immediate, impartial investigation and full state accountability.

"Nepal in Crisis: Gen Z Takes a Stand-Authorities Must Be Held to Account."

We, AIAYN express our deepest grief and condolences for the lives lost in yesterday’s tragic incident in Nepal

Yesterday, Nepal has seen the death of at least 19 people, notably including students in uniform, as young protesters mobilized in their thousands against a sweeping ban on 26 social media platforms. What began as resistance to censorship has quickly expanded into a nationwide outcry against institutional corruption, impunity, and a breakdown in accountability.

What’s at stake:

Protesters were met with an inhumane use of force; live ammunition, rubber bullets, tear gas that all unleashed against mostly peaceful, unarmed demonstrators, including school-children in uniform.

The tragic toll includes nineteen lives lost, hundreds injured, and a government that appears to act above any legislation, ignoring laws, bypassing accountability, and dismissing civil liberties as collateral damage.

Despite the violence, the youth—Gen Z continue marching for justice, future, and a country governed by rule of law, refusing to be silenced by bullets or censorship.

We stand against this cruel act from the government and armed forces. This absurd act is a violation of primary and basic human rights.

Amnesty International’s stance:

“The use of lethal force against protesters not posing an imminent threat of death or serious harm is a grave violation of international law.”
“We call for an immediate, independent, and impartial investigation. Perpetrators must be held accountable, and victims must receive reparations.”
