The Women of Nepal in Mathematical Sciences (WoNiMS) successfully celebrated the May 12 Initiative: Women and Girls in Mathematics in collaboration with Padmakanya Multiple Campus, Bagbazar, Kathmandu.
The event was an inspiring and engaging platform dedicated to motivating young students to pursue careers in mathematics and related STEM fields. As part of the May 12 Initiative in Nepal, the program featured a local celebration under the theme:
“A Journey from Uncertainty to Certainty: A Story of Becoming a Mathematician.”

May 12 Initiative: Celebrating Women in Mathematics !!!
The Women of Nepal in Mathematical Sciences (WoNiMS), in collaboration with Padmakanya Multiple Campus, Bagbazar, Kathmandu, is organizing a special event to celebrate women in mathematics, May 12 Initiative.
Join us for an inspiring session that shares the journeys, challenges, and achievements of women in this field. The program is designed to motivate and empower young minds—especially girls—to appreciate and pursue mathematics with confidence.
Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 (Baishakh 30, 2083)

On behalf of the Women of Nepal in Mathematical Sciences (WoNiMS), we extend our heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Nepalese on the auspicious occasion of the Nepali New Year 2083 B.S., wishing everyone happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, and longevity. May this New Year inspire greater achievements in the fields of knowledge, research, and innovation. With the firm belief that mathematical thinking and a scientific outlook can guide society toward a positive direction, we hope that the year 2083 encourages all of us to move forward in the spirit of continuous learning, collaboration, and creativity.
