The Khunde and Khumjung community, who reside here in Kathmandu, have formed a sub-committee called Khunde-Khumjung Earthquake Relief Group (KKERG). Its aim is to assist community-based organisations (CBOs) such as the Khunde Community Club and the Khumjung Relief Management Sub-Committee. KKERG will help to address the immediate relief support for these twin villages as they have suffered extensi
ve damage from the recent earthquake. The KKERG’s role would be to help the CBOs to seek assistance and support from potential donors, within and outside Nepal, in this time of need. The KKERGwill help communicate with, and raise funds, from different donors. Any resources received will be handled transparently through a committee comprised of elected representatives of the Khunde Community Club and the Khumjung Relief Management Sub-Committee.
