Chay Ya Nepal is a sister organization of Chay Ya Austria. Like many wonderful things, Chay Ya was created by chance. Chay Ya is Tibetan and means "Let's do it".

Chay Ya Nepal is a non-profit organization, working closely with mountain communities in the fields of Rebuilding, Health Care, Education, Women's Empowerment and Livelihood. During a trekking tour in the Himalayas, Austrian Sabine met the Nepalese Kamal. Sabine was dismayed about the living conditions of the people in the remote mountain villages of Nepal and Kamal has long had the desire to help

his people. What began as a private relief effort at a kitchen table in Kathmandu in 2007, is today an established non-governmental organization. According to this motto, Sabine and Kamal have continuously expanded their network and reach so that in 2015 Chay Ya Nepal was founded. What started out as small aid projects, for example supplying schools with teaching materials and health camps with hygiene training, has now developed into holistic, large-scale projects. The self-determination of the people affected as well as the sustainability of the programs are of utmost importance to us. All projects involve the local people and we work with local governments and village communities to ensure that what is needed will be supplied. So far, 23 schools, nine health and birthing stations, three school gardens, one waste separation, and one women's project in remote areas have been successfully implemented. The tragic earthquake in 2015 has left terrible traces, many livelihoods were destroyed. Basic needs like food, clean water, and medical care could hardly be supplied. Chay Ya reacted quickly and was able to ensure the supply of over 3000 families. This experience led to new areas of responsibility for our organization as planned projects were now complemented by humanitarian emergency aid. It is through these established structures that Chay Ya was able to respond quickly to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. In total, Chay Ya fundraised over 100 000 Euros to provide help efficiently and quickly. Thanks to the support of many people, we are able to continue our work, each individual makes a difference. 🌱 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠, 𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐮

A big thank you to our partner fivetolife - they helped companies give donations instead of Christmas cards last year and our women are just some of the beneficiaries!

Vegetable seed kits were successfully distributed in Karmarong, Mugu, in the presence of Senior Agriculture Officer Dipendra Bam, Ward Chairperson Achhampura Aidi, and Ward Secretary Bijaya Bham.

A total of 25 members received the seed kits during the event, while the remaining members will receive theirs in the presence of Cooperative Executive Board members across their respective clusters.

In total, 86 commercial households have benefited from the distribution, receiving seeds of carrot, leafy vegetables, cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, radish, and other seasonal vegetables.

This initiative aims to promote commercial vegetable farming and enhance livelihood opportunities in the community. 🌿

Our Executive Director, Mr. Kamal Thapa, together with the procurement team, recently conducted monitoring visits to project sites in Chandrapur, Siraha, Saptari, and Dhanusha.

These visits provided a valuable opportunity to review ongoing progress, engage directly with field teams and community members, and strengthen accountability in the implementation of project activities.

On April 2, 2026, a Project Inception Workshop was successfully conducted in Nalgad Municipality to introduce telemedicine services across three additional health facilities.

The workshop was honored by the presence of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, local stakeholders, and health professionals—reflecting strong local commitment and collaboration. 🤝

In partnership with 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐑𝐃𝐂, Chay Ya Nepal is expanding access to quality healthcare in remote communities. 💙

📍 Services will be rolled out at:
• Bhagwati Health Post (Ward 12)
• Sirke Basic Health Service Center (Ward 5)
• Nalgad Nagar Hospital

The Joint Monitoring Program was successfully conducted across selected health care facilities in Lumbini Province, bringing together key stakeholders including the Provincial Health Department Lumbini, Provincial Health Logistics Management Center, District Health Office Kapilvastu, UNICEF, Chay-Ya Nepal, HECAF 360, along with dedicated health staff and local Palikas.

The visit focused on:
🔹 Reviewing ongoing WASH activities
🔹 Assessing existing infrastructure
🔹 Promoting safe water, sanitation, and healthcare waste management practices

This collaborative initiative created a valuable platform for shared learning, on-site observation, and meaningful dialogue among stakeholders. By strengthening coordination and collective efforts, we are taking important steps toward improving the quality and safety of health service delivery.

4. Visit the telemedicine room at the scheduled time.

6. Follow the prescribed advice, treatment, and any follow-up care.
