अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरूको अधिकार, पहुँच र सम्मानजनक जीवन सुनिश्चित गर्न बजेट कत्तिको समावेशी हुनुपर्छ भन्ने विषयमा हाम्रो संस्थाकी अध्यक्षले महत्वपूर्ण लेख लेख्नुभएको छ। बजेट केवल अंक र योजनाको दस्तावेज मात्र होइन, यो राज्यले कसलाई प्राथमिकतामा राख्छ भन्ने राजनीतिक र सामाजिक प्रतिबद्धता पनि हो।

Prayatna Nepal successfully conducted a 5-day training on Sexuality from April 26–30, 2026 in Kathmandu for 20 visually impaired women.

The training created a safe and accessible learning space where participants explored important topics including sexuality concepts and terminology, safe pregnancy, baby care techniques, menstruation hygiene, internet and sexuality laws, disability and sexuality, and LGBTQI+ issues.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn through tactile methods by exploring different contraceptive devices, menstrual products and reproductive organs in an accessible and practical way.

Prayatna Nepal strongly believes that everyone has the right to accessible information, dignity, bodily autonomy, and inclusive SRHR education.

A powerful practical session on child care for blind and visually impaired women during Sexuality Training organized by Prayatna Nepal, led by a blind mother sharing her own lived experience. This session challenged the stereotype that blindness limits motherhood, proving instead that women with visual impairments are capable, confident, and nurturing caregivers who not only raise children but also support and guide other mothers. It’s time to recognize that good parenting is defined by care, strength, and love. Not by sight!!

To inform and aware 27 women and girls with visual impairments, visually impaired couples and Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) representatives about birth defect / disability prevention, Prayatna Nepal successfully completed one-day Professional counseling on SRHR. On this day, Dr. Khem Karki conducted an informative session on the TORCH profile test, explaining its role in detecting infections, its importance in pregnancy-related prevention, and addressing related queries in a clear and accessible manner.

Prayatna Nepal successfully conducted a capacity development training for 15 members of Sisters of Prayatna Nepal from Lumbini and Gandaki provinces. The sessions focused on leadership, negotiation, communication, networking, team building, management, and meeting minute writing.

This initiative aims to strengthen skills and empower leadership within the Sisters of Prayatna Nepal network, fostering a strong leadership mindset among its members.

Prayatna Nepal successfully conducted a Feminist Dialogue Series with 22 visually impaired girls and women creating a safe, inclusive space where voices were heard, stories were shared, and lived experiences were honored. The dialogue empowered participants to move beyond challenges, reflecting together and shaping meaningful solutions. It marked a step forward from identifying barriers to building pathways for change.

The insights gathered will help guide Prayatna Nepal’s future initiatives, making them more inclusive, responsive, and rooted in real experiences.
