Prayatna Nepal successfully conducted a one-day Accessible Digital Content Development Workshop with 31 stakeholders from UN agencies, INGOs, government and private sectors. Participants explored both theory and hands-on practice on digital accessibility and gained insights into how persons with visual impairment navigate the digital world, strengthening inclusive communication practices.

As part of the podcast hosting orientation organized by Prayatna Nepal, participants are taking their first steps in learning accessible podcast production. In this initial practice exercise, a deaf girl takes on the role of host while a blind girl participates as the guest. Two sign language interpreters support the interaction- one interpreting the host's signs into spoken language and the other interpreting the guest's spoken responses into sign language. This beginning practice session helps participants build confidence, communication skills, and experience in creating inclusive podcast content.

Prayatna Nepal is planning to produce a 15-episode audio-visual podcast series featuring personal stories and expert perspectives on digital pleasure, safety, and inclusion, in collaboration with Niharika Production Pvt. Ltd.. To prepare visually impaired and deaf girls for podcast hosting, a two-day orientation program has been organized. In this video, Ms. Sarita Lamichhane shares the objectives and production plan of the podcast series before participants move on to the practical session led by Mr. Toya Ghimire, Program Director and Creative Head at Niharika Production.

Advancing access to assistive technology is essential for building an inclusive society. On the occasion of the Third World Assistive Technology Day on June 4, Prayatna Nepal proudly joined hands with government bodies, organizations of persons with disabilities, and other stakeholders in a National Policy Dialogue and Assistive Technology Exhibition held in Kathmandu.

We appreciate everyone who contributed to this collective effort toward greater accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all.

Prayatna Nepal successfully conducted a five-day Fight Back training program for 13 blind and visually impaired girls and women. The training combined both theoretical learning and physical practice to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical self-defense skills.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in discussions on personal safety, recognizing potential risks, setting boundaries, and responding effectively to situations involving harm or abuse. These sessions were complemented by hands-on physical exercises, enabling participants to practice self-defense techniques and build the confidence to protect themselves when faced with threatening situations. The training aimed to foster self-confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of independence among participants, empowering them to safeguard their well-being and assert their rights.
