On 20th March 2026, Garima Kandel Memorial Trust organized a school education progam on cancer awareness at Prerana High School, Bharatpur, Chitwan. Approximately 200 students attended the awareness class.

The main objective of the program was to educate young students about what cancer is and how it can be prevented through healthy lifestyle choices. The session aimed to build awareness and encourage students to adopt habits that reduce the risk of cancer.

The program was highly effective and a great success. Students actively participated and raised thoughtful questions during the interactive session, reflecting their interest and engagement in the topic.
The event was coordinated by GKMT board member Ms. Binda Shreshtha Tuladhar, and the lecture was conducted by Dr. Dikshanta Acharya. We extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Binda and Dr. Dikshanta for their valuable contributions and dedication.

We are also grateful to the school management for their kind cooperation and support in making the program a success. Special thanks to the School Principal Mr. Avinas Adhikari for their keen interest and support.

In collaboration with BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Garima Kandel Memorial Trust (GKMT) observed World Childhood Cancer Day 2026 at the pediatric ward of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chitwan.
On this meaningful occasion, GKMT distributed stationery materials and health kits to all children undergoing cancer treatment in the ward. The initiative aimed to bring smiles, encouragement, and support to the young patients and their families.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the hospital administration, the pediatric department team, and the dedicated GKMT organizing team for their valuable coordination and support in making this event successful.

On the occasion of memorial day of Late Garima Kandel, the Garima Kandel Memorial Trust handed over free medicines for cancer patients to the Oncology Department of KIST Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Lalitpur.
On this occasion, the Trust supported pain-management medicines equivalent to a significant quantity of morphine for palliative care patients. These medicines will be distributed to patients through the hospital’s oncology department.
We sincerely thanks to Hospital management, program coordinator, GKMT expert member Mr. Kishore Pradhanga and GKMT Team Members.

With the generous donation from Eco Soap Nepal, and coordination by Mr. Niall Kavanagh, the Garima Kandel Memorial Cancer Trust (GKMT) successfully distributed 1,000 units of hand-washing soap to admitted cancer patients at B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chitwan.
We extend our sincere thanks to Eco Soap Nepal for their generosity. This marks the second cycle of distribution, with the total value of the donated soaps exceeding NPR 50,000.
Special appreciation goes to Mr. Niall Kavanagh for his continued involvement and effective coordination of this project with Eco Soap Nepal. You have been a true supporter of GKMT, actively contributing through multiple charitable initiatives.
We would also like to thank Ms. Matrika Adhikari, Board Member of GKMT, for organizing this event successfully.
Finally, GKMT sincerely appreciates the cooperation and support of the department heads and staff of B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital.

We continue to support the cost of blood transfusions for the most vulnerable cancer patients who are facing severe financial hardship while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chitwan.

23rd Jan 2025- Today is the 11th annivarsary that late Garima Kandel departed this universe into heaven. To commemorate her annual memorial day, Garima Kandel Memorial Trust distributed support to cancer patients at Radiation Oncology Ward in BP Koirala Cancer Hospital Chitwan. Some emergency cash support and other support have been distributed to 30 most in-need patients.
The funds for this event were raised by sponsor Niall Kavanagh, who raised funds from his cycling challenge from Kathmandu to Chitwan in November 2024. We are very grateful to Mr. Niall Kavanagh for his kind generosity.
Today's event was coordinated by GKMT board member Mr. Matrika Adhikari. Thank you Matrika and team. We are also thankful to the Hospital Management for their cooperation.

Congratulations Niall Kavanagh for safely completion of your long routed Cycling challege from Kathmandu to Chitwan . Your journey was not a long distance but also meaningful dedication to raising awareness and funds for cancer pattients , shows your compassion and commitment to helpling other.
At end of Niall's cycling Journey at BP Memorial Cancer Hospital , chitwan, Niall met some selected disadvatgaged patients from remote areas of nepal and serving them some nutiritious food and warm blankets. We believe , that have brought some comfort and support to those facing difficult circumstances.
GKMT is so Thankful and grateful to Niall for chosing us to support.

Garima Kandel Award 2023 have been distributed at Madan Smarak High school, Lalitpur to three students who scored highest result at grade 7, 8 and 9. This award has been established in 2016 and distributing annually .
