Notice: Extreme Weather Alert тАУ Important Safety Information for Trekkers and Staff
Date: 4 October 2025
Dear Trekkers, Guides and Partners,
According to the weather forecast issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), extreme weather conditions including heavy rainfall and potential floods are expected on 4th, 5th, and 6th October 2025 across various trekking regions of Nepal.
In light of this, we strongly advise all trekking agencies, guides, trekkers, and support staff to plan carefully and prioritize safety during this period.
Please follow these important safety guidelines:
- Follow the official weather updates issued by DHM and plan your trekking schedule accordingly. We strongly advise you not to start any trek between 4th and 6th October 2025. After this period, please check the condition of roads and trekking infrastructure before resuming treks.
- Avoid unnecessary travel on highways. Follow the instructions from local authorities and do not drive through Kavre Bhanjyang to Manthali and other destinations after 5:00 PM until 7th October 2025.

Assess trail and infrastructure conditions locally. Instruct all trekking guides, porters, and trekkers to check trail safety and apply all necessary precautions at their respective destinations.
Support local communities and authorities.

Encourage trekking guides and staff to cooperate with local communities, entrepreneurs, and government officials in monitoring weather conditions, conducting ground assessments, and assisting in rescue or relief activities when needed.
