E-Waste Management Nepal

E-Waste Management Nepal Electronic goods that are old and do not function properly are taken from your home in our waste management garage and maintained and donated . 1.

Summary of your project

Electronic products that no more can be used as per their original purpose and are left back in houses/offices as wastes are e-wastes. E-wastes are considered hazardous, as certain components of some electronic products contain materials that are hazardous, depending on their condition and density. Computer wastes that are land filled produces contaminated leachates, which

eventually pollute the groundwater. Acids and sludge obtained from melting computer chips, if disposed on the ground causes acidification of soil. Discarded computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, fax machines, electric lamps, cell phones, audio equipment and batteries if improperly disposed can leach lead and other substances into soil and groundwater. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled in an environmentally sound manner so that they are less harmful to the ecosystem. At our EWM (Electronic Waste Management) Garage, we collect/buy these wastes, process it and convert it into electronic goods once again. These products will be sold at the market, donated to the community centers, community schools as required and the chain will be established. Technicians at EWM-Garage will be employed from marginalized communities. Knowledge Centres will be established in urban slums providing basic learning equipment such as a computer and TV. Young volunteers will be mobilized for collection and distribution of e-wastes
