Inclusive tourism is not just about destinations; it is about creating opportunities for everyone.

Launch of the 28-day Wellness Therapy Training for the LGBTIQ+ community, supported by the Sustainable Tourism Project (STP), a joint initiative of the Nepal Tourism Board and UNDP Nepal, in coordination with Blue Diamond Society.

As Nepal prepares for Nepal Wellness Year 2027, this initiative is more than a skills training. It is about empowering marginalized communities with professional competencies, creating pathways to dignified employment, and ensuring that the benefits of tourism reach everyone.

A truly sustainable tourism industry is one where diversity is celebrated, inclusion is practiced, and no one is left behind.

Api-Saipal is emerging as one of Nepal’s most promising trekking destinations!

The Sustainable Tourism Project (STP, a joint initiative of Nepal Tourism Board and UNDP, has been supporting destination enhancement, skills development, and community-based tourism initiatives that create local employment, empower women and youth, and help reduce outmigration.

Through improved trekking trails, homestays, tea houses, hospitality training, and local guide development, Api-Saipal has witnessed remarkable growth from almost no visitors a few years ago to more than 5,000 trekkers last year.

A recent social media post shared by the Prime Minister has brought national attention to the breathtaking landscapes of Api-Saipal, highlighting the immense potential of tourism to transform remote communities.

Api-Saipal is a shining example of how sustainable tourism can protect nature, celebrate culture, and improve livelihoods.

Empowering Women Behind the Wheel of Nepal's Tourism Future!

Women's Tourist Vehicle Driver Training has officially began under the Sustainable Tourism Project (STP)- a joint initiative of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), marking another milestone in promoting inclusive and sustainable tourism in Nepal.

A total of 38 women from across the country have begun a 30-day intensive training designed to develop professional driving skills for the tourism sector. Implemented in collaboration with the Nepal Tourist Transport Entrepreneurs Association, the programme aims to enhance women's employability, improve service quality, and increase female representation in a traditionally male dominated profession.

By equipping women with market-oriented skills and creating pathways to employment, the initiative is contributing to safer, more inclusive, and resilient tourism while advancing women's economic empowerment.

Together, we are driving change one journey at a time.
