[Ideas in Action]

What begins as an idea has the power to transform communities, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilience against climate challenges.

Over the past six months, six passionate young entrepreneurs embarked on a journey through the “Incubation of Ideas on Climate Smart Livelihood Solutions Program”. What started as concepts and aspirations evolved into purpose driven ventures equipped with stronger business models, clearer visions, and the confidence to create meaningful change.

This video captures more than entrepreneurial journeys. It reflects determination, innovation, and the commitment of young changemakers who dared to reimagine climate challenges as opportunities for sustainable impact.

A special note of appreciation to our videographer, Suraj Ratna Shakya, for turning our incubatees' journeys, dreams, and impact into a powerful visual story that inspires and resonates beyond the screen.

As these ventures move beyond incubation and into their next chapter, we celebrate not just what has been achieved, but the possibilities that lie ahead.

The journey does not end here. This is only the beginning.

Impact Hub Kathmandu conducted Masterclass 1: Introduction to Circular Economy and Masterclass 1.1: Developing Circular Mindset on 7 May, 2026 for Bagmati Cohort 3 under Roots of Circularity (RoC) Incubator Program. This session took participants on a learning journey from historical systems to future-focused thinking.
The session began by unpacking the historical context of the Industrial Revolution, setting the foundation to better understand how today’s economic systems evolved. From there, the discussion moved into exploring the concept of the Circular Economy and what it truly means to adopt a circular way of thinking in both business and everyday decisions.

Participants were also introduced to transformative ideas such as regenerative thinking, encouraging a shift beyond sustainability towards restoring and enhancing natural systems. The session further challenged traditional linear “take-make-waste” models and highlighted alternative frameworks like the butterfly diagram, offering a clearer and more practical understanding of circularity in action.

The energy in the room was highly engaging, with participants actively contributing, sharing reflections, and deepening the collective learning experience. Also, Circular Economy Toolkit for entrepreneurs, entrepreneur supporting organizations, business development service providers, and any organization interested in integrating circular design principles to support entrepreneurial communities is now available on our website (both English and Nepali Version).

This session was facilitated by Rohan Shrestha, Program Manager (RoC) and Selisha Shrestha, Program Officer.

The RoC Project is funded by the European Union and spearheaded by the Impact Hub Association (IHA) in collaboration with Impact Hub Kathmandu (IH KTM) and Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN).
