Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Metro was established on 1st November, 2004 with the vision to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance their knowledge and skills that will assist them for personal development, to address to the needs of their communities through fellowship and service and to promote better relations between/among the people living in different sphere of community thro
ugh a framework of friendship and service. There are many ways we look at the community service projects that are conducted by us, and for our purposes here we have chosen to ensure that we are Serving the needs of groups of people of all ages; albeit, in a multitude of ways. Most of our club activities take place at the club level. We hold formal meetings, usually every two weeks, which features President, Secretary, community service director, professional service director, treasurer, speakers, special outings, social activities, discussions or visits to other clubs. Club members get together on designated days for service project work, social events, or professional/leadership development workshops. Rotaractors get together for service projects, social activities, and leadership workshops. Art exhibition on various auspicious days, Training programme for both it’s members and community people, personality development activities like in-house speaking programs, RYLA participation make us learn, enjoy together and strengthen our relationship with the people from various walks of life. Despite that, our skills on leadership, professional development, community service gets enhanced. We conduct a project that is relevant to our studies. Thus we can take the lead to initiate development projects providing various facets of platform in different social arena. Recently, we implemented a community service project regarding need based scholarship to the students of poorest part of lalitpur district, where they were given with stationary materials and winter clothes to school going children. While doing these all these activities, we manage our expenses on our own through club members and generous sponsors who are willing to strengthen Rotaract movement in Nepal with the prime slogan of ‘Service above self.’
