International Women's Day 2026: Rights, Justice, and Collective Voice!
On the occasion of the 116th International Women's Day, activists, advocates, and women workers gathered in solidarity for a rally from Maitighar Mandala to Baneshwor (in front of Hotel Everest), under this year's theme: 'Give to Gain:
With the core sentiment of "Rights, Justice, and Equality: For All Women and Girls," organized voices were raised through songs, poetry, and powerful speeches to protect the human rights of women.
Key Demands & Messages:
✅ We urge the upcoming new government to respect the voices of workers, women, and marginalized communities and prioritize creating a just environment for all.
✅ This day is not just a celebration; it is a day to review history, challenge policymakers, and build collective power.
✅ "When Women Stop, the World Stops" – Accept women’s leadership and respect the labor of women workers in every sector.
✅ Fully implement the rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal.
Concluding the event, Ms. Srijana Pun, Vice Chairperson and Secretariat member of the National Network of Women Human Rights Defenders (NNWHRD), expressed gratitude to the dedicated and respected Prime Minister Sushil Karki, following the elections of March 4 (Falgun 21), and thanked everyone for their participation.
