With profound sorrow, the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) extends its deepest condolences on the tragic loss of Nimsdai Purja Nirmal "Nims" Purja, Zhong Wang, Nima Sherpa, and Kilu Sherpa on Broad Peak.

We acknowledge the successful recovery operation carried out under extremely difficult and hazardous conditions. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the dedicated ground recovery team led by IFMGA/NNMGA Mountain Guide Mingma Gyalje Sherpa (Mingma G), Mingma G whose exceptional leadership, professionalism, courage, and selfless commitment made this mission possible. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Sirbaz Khan, the entire recovery team, the Pakistan Army, the Government of Pakistan, the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, the Embassy of Nepal, the Alpine Club of Pakistan, Alpine Club of Pakistan and everyone who contributed to this challenging operation.

The mountaineering community has lost remarkable climbers whose passion, determination, and achievements inspired people around the world. Their legacy will continue to live on through the mountains they loved and the countless lives they touched.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with their families, friends, and colleagues during this time of immense grief. We also remember those who are still missing and sincerely hope that every possible effort will continue to bring them home when conditions safely allow.

Rest in peace, Nims, Zhong, Nima, and Kilu. You will never be forgotten.

In loving memory of the brave souls we lost at Broad Peak, Pakistan

A candlelight vigil and memorial ceremony was held at Maitighar Mandala in Babarmahal on Tuesday evening to honour the 10 mountaineers who lost their lives in the devastating avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan on July 30.

Candlelight Vigil and memorial Ceremony in Loving Memory of the Brave Souls Who Lost Their Lives at Broad Peak, Pakistan

We would like to inform all members, friends and the mountaineering community that NNMGA is going to organize a Candle Lighting Ceremony in loving memory of the brave mountaineers who lost their lives in the tragic avalanche at Broad Peak, Pakistan.
This ceremony is being held to honor their courage, legacy and remarkable contributions to the mountaineering community. Their dedication, passion and achievements have inspired climbers around the world and their memories will continue to live on in the hearts of the global mountaineering family.
We warmly invite all members, well-wishers, friends and members of the public to join us in paying our heartfelt tribute to these courageous souls and to stand together in remembrance and solidarity in a candlelight vigil and memorial ceremony.
The program will be conducted as follows:
