Women Act, in partnership with Plan International, is proud to host the two-day "Workshop/Orientation on the Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Technology-Facilitated GBV (TFGBV) and Online Child Sexual Exploitation" under the Breaking the Silence Project. As technology evolves, so do the risks of digital harm. This crucial workshop brings together 22 project staff members, Kapilvastu Police’s Women Cell staff members, and Women Act’s community-level peer educators to tackle the rising challenges of Generative AI, online safety, and protecting vulnerable children and individuals from technology-driven exploitation and violence (TFGBV). Held in Lumbini Province from June 19-20, 2026, the event features very important insights from key experts. We extend our very grateful to our expert guest speakers, including S.P. Dhruba Kumar Shrestha Sir from the Lumbini Province Police Office and Inspector Adarsha Giri Sir from the Kapilvastu Police Office, for shedding light on how AI and social media is reshaping the landscape of digital harm and how we can collectively fight back to build safer spaces for everyone.

Women Act successfully organized a Bagmati Province Level Two-Day Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme on 29–30 May 2026 in Hetauda, Makwanpur, under the Addendum – Nepal's Marginalised and At-Risk Women and Girls' Economic Security and Empowerment Project (Chanels Project).

The programme brought together project staff and CoP Network members from across Bagmati Province to enhance their knowledge and facilitation skills in digital literacy, marketing, branding, market management, and e-commerce platforms.

Through interactive sessions, practical learning, and experience sharing, participants strengthened their capacity to support women entrepreneurs and promote economic empowerment within their communities.

Training of Women Entrepreneurs on Addressing Harmful Social Values and Practices Impeding Women’s Entrepreneurship in Nepal

A Training of Trainers (TOT) programme under the CHANEL Project was successfully conducted at Hotel Kuti, Lakeside, Pokhara, from Baisakh 6–8, 2083 (April 18–20, 2026).

Organised by Women ACT, Kathmandu, the programme focused on identifying and addressing key barriers faced by women entrepreneurs in achieving economic independence. It also emphasised the importance of reducing harmful social norms and promoting Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI).

More than 35 women entrepreneurs from three municipalities of Gandaki Province—Pokhara Metropolitan City, Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality, and Hupsekot Rural Municipality—actively participated in the training.

Participants engaged in interactive discussions and capacity-building sessions aimed at strengthening their ability to support women-led initiatives and foster inclusive economic growth. The initiative is expected to contribute to long-term social and economic empowerment of women and girls in vulnerable communities across Nepal.
