The vibrant orange hues of Thimi are calling!

Today, our volunteers joined the sea of orange in Thimi, Bhaktapur to celebrate the incredible Sindur Jatra! This festival is a true sensory explosion, marking the arrival of the Nepali New Year with traditional music, palanquin processions, and—of course—showers of orange vermilion powder (Sindur).

Seeing our volunteers fully immersed in the local traditions, covered in orange, and dancing alongside the community is what cultural exchange is all about. At VSN, we don't just want you to see Nepal; we want you to feel the heartbeat of its heritage.

A massive thank you to the people of Thimi for welcoming our volunteers with such open arms and vibrant energy. Happy New Year 2083 to all!

New Year, same commitment.

While Nepal celebrates the Nepali New Year, our volunteers chose to spend the day giving back—painting and improving the Disability Center with full dedication.

No holidays from purpose.
No breaks from impact.

Wishing everyone a Happy Nepali New Year from all of us on the field.

Experience More Than Just Volunteering in Nepal

At Volunteer Society Nepal, we believe volunteering is not just about giving—it’s about experiencing, learning, and connecting across different communities.

Alberte and Freia joined us for a 4-week journey, where they spent:
- 2 weeks at the Women’s Empowerment Center supporting and engaging with local women
- 2 weeks teaching at a Monastery, sharing knowledge and learning from young monks

One of the unique aspects of our programs is flexibility. You don’t have to stick to just one project—you can explore multiple placements and truly experience the diversity of Nepal while making a meaningful impact.

Whether it’s education, community development, or cultural exchange, every experience adds a new perspective and deeper connection.

👉 Ready to create your own journey? Join us and make your time in Nepal unforgettable.

From volunteering to the mountains.

Megan from New Zealand and Nikita from the Netherlands have taken their journey one step further—embarking on the Manaslu Circuit Trek after completing their volunteering programs with Volunteer Society Nepal.

After giving back to the community, they now explore the raw beauty of Nepal—remote trails, mountain villages, and the true Himalayan experience.

This is what makes the journey complete.
Give. Learn. Explore.

If you also want to combine volunteering + trekking, we can arrange everything for you through our sister company Real Journey Pvt. Ltd.—from meaningful community work to unforgettable HIMALAYA adventures.

We are passionate about:
Connecting you with local communities
Showcasing Nepal’s culture and landscapes
Supporting grassroots projects across the country

Purpose over uncertainty.

Rolf Engelen from the Netherlands has arrived in Nepal, choosing to move forward with his journey even during a challenging global situation.

While many plans are paused, he chose action—to be present, to contribute, and to experience something meaningful beyond comfort zones.

This is what volunteering stands for.
Commitment. Courage. Purpose.

Welcome to Nepal, Rolf. Your journey starts here.
