Making a Lasting Difference in Ghasa, Mustang

We’re delighted to have Keith and his daughter Mikaela from Hong Kong, together with Toscane from France, volunteering at Janata Adharbhut School in the beautiful village of Ghasa, Mustang.

This inspiring international team is doing much more than teaching English. Alongside supporting students in the classroom, they are working to create a brighter learning environment by giving the classrooms a fresh new look and helping establish a school library filled with books that will inspire children to read, learn, and dream.

Their dedication, teamwork, and generosity are creating opportunities that will continue to benefit the students long after their volunteer journey ends. Together, they are proving that education, kindness, and collaboration can make a meaningful impact across cultures.

Thank you, Keith, Mikaela, and Toscane, for sharing your time, energy, and passion with the children of Ghasa. Your contribution is helping build a brighter future—one classroom and one book at a time.

Meet Our Inspiring Medical Elective Interns from Slovakia! 🩺

We are delighted to welcome Ľubomíra Marczellová and Victoria Stofikova from Slovakia, who have joined Volunteer Society Nepal for a 3-week Medical Elective Internship Program.

During their internship, they will gain valuable hands-on exposure to Nepal’s healthcare system by observing and learning alongside experienced medical professionals. This unique experience offers an opportunity to deepen their clinical knowledge while understanding healthcare delivery in a different cultural and resource setting.

Beyond the hospital, they will also immerse themselves in Nepali culture, connect with local communities, and create memories that will stay with them throughout their medical careers.

We are honored to be part of their journey and wish them a rewarding and unforgettable experience in Nepal.

Welcome to the Volunteer Society Nepal family, Ľubomíra and Victoria!

Your expertise can create real impact where it is needed most.

Megan from the Belgium is spending 4 weeks in Nepal as a Physiotherapy Volunteer at a disability center in Kathmandu. In a resource-deprived setting, professional knowledge, patience, and practical skills make a powerful difference.

Working alongside local caregivers, she supports rehabilitation exercises, mobility training, and individualized therapy plans for children and adults with disabilities. In communities where access to specialized care is limited, skilled volunteers help bridge the gap.

Volunteering is not just about giving time — it is about sharing expertise that strengthens local capacity and empowers lives.

If you are a physiotherapist, healthcare student, or medical professional, your skills can be a valuable addition to local communities in Nepal.

The vibrant orange hues of Thimi are calling!

Today, our volunteers joined the sea of orange in Thimi, Bhaktapur to celebrate the incredible Sindur Jatra! This festival is a true sensory explosion, marking the arrival of the Nepali New Year with traditional music, palanquin processions, and—of course—showers of orange vermilion powder (Sindur).

Seeing our volunteers fully immersed in the local traditions, covered in orange, and dancing alongside the community is what cultural exchange is all about. At VSN, we don't just want you to see Nepal; we want you to feel the heartbeat of its heritage.

A massive thank you to the people of Thimi for welcoming our volunteers with such open arms and vibrant energy. Happy New Year 2083 to all!
