Big Win for Nepal's Security Workers!🛡️

After two years of dedicated organizing, the All-Nepal Security Workers Union (ANSWU) has secured a landmark collective bargaining agreement with Garud Security Pvt. Ltd. — benefiting nearly 5,000 workers!

Key gains include:
- Minimum hourly wage of NPR 165.91 + dearness allowance
- Overtime at NPR 191.62/hour
- Appointment letters, seasonal uniforms, proper leave, and Dashain festival bonus
- Stronger job security, social security contributions, and a formal dispute resolution process

This agreement sets a powerful benchmark for the entire security sector in Nepal and shows what workers can achieve when they stand united.

Pre-Planning Meeting for the Next Project Cycle!

Building on the momentum from our successful preliminary meeting with the Commerce Sector Unions (Unicome, NCAWU, and ANPSSWU) on March 24, we took the next important step on April 10, 2026.

A focused pre-planning meeting was held at the UNISAOC Office, where we dove deeper into strategy, timelines, priorities, and actionable plans for the upcoming project cycle.

With clear alignment and renewed energy, we’re refining our approach to deliver even stronger results for workers in the commerce sector.

The foundation is set. Now it’s time to turn vision into action!

Kathmandu, Nepal – March 8, 2026: A dynamic Strategic Discussion Meeting on Organizing Care Workers at Local and Community Levels concluded successfully at UNI-SAOC in Sankhamul. The four-hour session, held on International Women’s Day and organized by the Local Level Employees Union of Nepal (LLEUN) with UNI Apro, focused on developing action plans for bargaining and advancing gender equity while supporting the unionization of over 30,000 care workers facing insecure contracts, including those in municipal hospitals, health assistants, ANMs, and school nurses.

Regional Secretary Rajendra Acharya emphasized: “UNI Apro stands firmly with LLEUN to represent these vital care workers and to empower women in Nepal’s care economy through regional solidarity, training, and global representation.

Community Health Workers' voice to reach Parliament! 💪🩺
On behalf of ANHVWU Kalpana Maharjan handed over a 16-point demand charter to CPN candidate Kalpana Sharma from Kathmandu Constituency No. 5.
Candidate Kalpana Sharma pledged:
"I will raise the community health workers' demands in Parliament and strongly push for a single law to fulfill all their rightful demands!"

A positive step for Community Health Workers' rights!
Under the initiative of All Nepal Health Volunteer Worker's Union (ANHVWU) a legitimate 16-point demand letter was handed over to Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) candidate for House of Representative Mr. Baldev Chaudhary for Udayapur Constituency No. 1.
The Candidate acknowledged all demands as justified and committed to addressing them through streets & parliament, raising them in the House, and fulfilling them!
