Empowering Families, Strengthening Livelihoods !

Unnati is implementing an integrated project focusing on education, health, and livelihoods to ensure holistic and sustainable community development.

As part of the Livelihood Support Initiative, Unnati has successfully distributed four buffalloes to four families. Through this initiative, Four more families in Thakre Rural Municipality have begun their journey toward self-reliance through animal rearing support.

These animals are not just sources of income; they represent hope, stability, and a pathway toward a more sustainable future. Together, we are creating opportunities for growth, dignity in every household, and better educational opportunities for children.

Empowering Families, Strengthening Livelihoods !

Unnati is implementing an integrated project focusing on education, health, and livelihoods to ensure holistic and sustainable community development.

As part of the Livelihood Support Initiative, Unnati has successfully distributed 30 goats to Ten families. Each household received three crossbred goats (Boer and Jamuna Pari). Through this initiative, Ten more families in Thakre Rural Municipality have begun their journey toward self-reliance through animal rearing support.

These animals are not just sources of income; they represent hope, stability, and a pathway toward a more sustainable future. Together, we are creating opportunities for growth, dignity in every household, and better educational opportunities for children.

On the auspicious occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Shree Mahadevbesi Tole Sudhar Samiti organized a series of environmental awareness and conservation activities, including a plantation program, drama performance, rally and awareness campaign, as well as sanitation and cleanliness activities.

The event was jointly coordinated and supported by Thakre Rural Municipality and like-minded organizations, including Unnati Kathmandu Nepal, ICDC, and CDPN.

The formal program was chaired by the President of the Samiti, Mrs. Jamuna Subedi. The Chief Guest was Mr. Ram Kumar Acharya, Chairperson of Thakre Rural Municipality, while Mr. Yantra Bahadur Thapa, Vice-Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, attended as the Special Guest. Other distinguished guests included Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Balram Lamshal, Ward Chairpersons from Wards 1, 2, 6, and 11, representatives of various political parties, and representatives from different organizations.

During the program, all speakers emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, sustainable development, and collective responsibility in protecting natural resources for future generations.

Spreading Smiles, Supporting Dreams 📚✨

Unnati recently distributed School Bags, stationery kits, including copies, pencils, pens, erasers, and other essential learning materials to sponshor children across 14 public schools in Thakre Rural Municipality, Dhading.Total 153 students have been benefitting from the distribution program.

For many students, these simple supplies are much more than educational materials they are tools that support learning, encourage confidence, and help them pursue their dreams. At Unnati, we believe that every child deserves access to the resources they need to build a brighter future.

The joy and excitement on the students’ faces remind us why this work is so important. We are grateful to Thakre Rural Municipality, school management teams, teachers, parents, and all local stakeholders for their valuable support in making this initiative successful.

Inclusive Education for All

Under the Child Education and Empowerment Project (CEEP), Unnati is working to ensure inclusive education for Blind and Visually Impaired(BVI) Children.

We have also expanded our efforts by supporting education and livelihood programs for both children and their families, and by helping schools and hostel develop accessible, blind-friendly resources to meet students’ needs.

To create an enabling learning environment and improve access to education, Unnati has provided school bags and stationaries to 16 blind and visually impaired students living at the Blind Hostel of Shree Janajagriti Secondary School. We provide such materials regularly.

Unnati continues to build strong partnerships with the Blind Hostel, Janajagriti Secondary School, Thakre Rural Municipality, and families resulting in positive impacts on student school enrollment, attendance, and learning achievements.

Formation of School Management Committee and Parents and Teachers Association

One of the Child Education and Empowerement Project (CEEP) supported schools, Shree Mahankaleswori Secondary School, successfully organized the formation program of the School Management Committee (SMC) and Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and Farewell to the SEE graduates students program.

The chief guest of the formal program was Mr. Ram Kumar Acharya, Thakre Rural Municipality, Chairperson, Special Guest were Head of Education Department, Mrs. Durga Devi Khadka, Guest were Prem kumar Thapa, Thakre ward 8, chairperson, Prem sagar foundation, Mr. Bhola Raut, The event was attended by different stakeholders from the community.

Representatives from Unnati were also invited as distinguished guest participants in the program. Eventually, Unnati, Kathmandu were also rewarded with the token of love.

During the event, Various Teachers were also get rewarded from the Token of love from Chief Guest. Every Speaker deliver congratulatory remarks and extend their best wishes to the newly elected members of the School Management Committee (SMC) and Parents Teachers Association (PTA).

🩺✨ Regular Health Check-Up for Blind & Visually Impaired Students

Unnati successfully organized a regular health check-up camp at the Shree Janajagriti Secondary School, Blind Hostel, continuing its commitment to inclusive care and well-being. The camp is jointly organized in collaboration with Thakre Ward No. 6 and Mahadevbesi Health Post.

This initiative ensures that visually impaired children receive timely medical attention and essential health services. The camp provided free health check-ups, vaccinations, and interactive health awareness sessions, supporting students in maintaining better health and overall well-being.

A total of 16 visually impaired students benefited from this month’s health camp. Together, we continue working towards inclusive education and healthier communities. 🌱💙

Formation of School Management Committee and Parents and Teachers Association

One of the Child Education and Empowerement Project (CEEP) supported schools, Shree Kalika Secondary School, successfully organized the formation program of the School Management Committee (SMC) and Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and Farewell to the SEE graduates students program.

A total of seven members were formally selected for the School Management Committee (SMC), while nine members were formed in the Parents Teachers Association (PTA).

The chief guest of the formal program was Mr. Ram Kumar Acharya, Thakre Rural Municipality, Chairperson, Special Guest were Head of Education Department, Mrs. Durga Devi Khadka, Guest were Yubaraj Khatiwoda, Thakre ward 7, chairperson, Prem sagar foundation, Mr. Bhola Raut, The event was attended by different stakeholders.
