Federation of Democratic NGOs (FEDEN)- Nepal is a national forum of NGOs, established for the promotion and fortification of social justice, human rights and fair development. In Nepal, it is already proven fact that NGOs can be effective vehicles for social transformation, economic advancement, socio-economic empowerment and democratic governance. NGOs responsibilities are augmented on activating and promotion of human rights, people' welfare and democracy in this transitional phase of political, economic and social transformation. In the context, Federation of Democratic NGOs (FEDEN)- Nepal is a national forum of NGOs, established for the promotion and fortification of social justice, human rights and fair development. FEDEN is established in July 2006 and registered under the Nepal recognized as a member in National Development Council under National planning Commission. It is an autonomous and politically non-partisan organization, run by the representatives of NGOs. FEDEN has a national level network of NGOs. The central committee is formed of development experts having long experience in the development and NGOs sectors. FEDEN has been involving in capacity building of member NGOs, strengthening peace and governance. Networking, policy analysis and advocacy, social justice, and equitable development. FEDEN has more than 2000 member NGOs from across Nepal. It has already outreached in 75 districts through district level chapters. FEDEN actively participates in numerous national development issues. FEDEN has planning to produce newsletter, public appeal, press release, interaction, advocate in social and human right issues. FEDEN has own rented office space in Teku, Kathmandu. It is established with member's own contribution. A staff is hired to look after the activities of the office. DEDEN already has drafted a code of conduct for its member NGOs. To achieve its mission and goals. FEDEN can collaborate and work with external organizations that have similar objectives.
