“Rights, Justice, and Equal Opportunities for All Women and Girls.”
116th International Women’s Day – 2026
Today we gathered in solidarity at Maitighar Mandala. Women’s rights organizations, activists, and allies stood together not only to celebrate this day, but also to recognize the strength and contribution of women workers everywhere.
When women’s work stops, the whole world stops. Their rights, dignity, safety, and opportunities should never be optional. Today is both a celebration and a reminder that equality and justice for women and girls must remain a shared responsibility for all.

Today we celebrate the achievements of women -their strength, wisdom, and resilience. Yet, so many women and girls are still fighting for safety, respect, and equal opportunities. This International Women’s Day 2026 is both a celebration and a call to action: to support women, to demand justice, and to take real steps toward equality. Let’s stand for Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls, and build a world where every girl grows up knowing her rights, her value, and her power.

A meaningful Group Counseling Therapy Session was successfully conducted for the Women Empowerment Network, Sindhupalchok District.
The session began with warm body stretching exercises to build comfort, connection, and positive energy among participants. A guided Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) practice helped release physical tension and calm the mind.
The core of the session focused on recognizing personal strengths and reflecting on one behavior each participant wished to improve. Through open sharing, emotional validation, and mutual support, the group created a safe space for self-awareness, healing, and growth.
Nurturing mental well-being for overall well-being.💚

It was a truly meaningful and heartwarming visit to Sindhupalchok.
Sunita Foundation is grateful to have Dear Randall Bollig Sir, Randy Bollig spend time with the students with the support of the Family and Friends Project, sharing learning sessions and encouragement. Watching him sit closely with the children, reading together, listening to their thoughts, and guiding them was something genuinely beautiful.
The students were fully engaged, actively reading, sharing ideas, and participating with excitement and confidence. Their energy and curiosity reminded us that when children feel supported, learning becomes joyful and powerful.
This visit was more than just a session it was about connection, care, and strengthening the spirit of education.
We remain committed to continuing such regular visits to keep our students motivated, active, and inspired in their learning journey.

In today’s Nepal, we witness both progress and struggle. We see voices rising, questions being asked, and citizens demanding accountability. At the same time, many communities continue to face inequality, injustice, and uncertainty.
Democracy gives us the space to speak, to organize, to protect rights, and to stand beside those whose voices are often unheard.

On this Democracy Day, Sunita Foundation reaffirms its commitment to human dignity, gender equality, and the protection of vulnerable communities. True democracy is not measured only by systems and elections but by how safely, equally, and respectfully every individual can live.

A stronger Nepal is built when every voice matters.
A just Nepal is built when no one is left behind.

Sunita Foundation team recently participated in an Effective Communication Training organized by Ecpat Luxembourg and facilitated by Ms. Kriti Bhattarai.
The session helped us better understand effective communication; its types, essential skills, and common obstacles especially in the context of working with children, trafficking survivors and communities. Through practical examples and engaging discussions, we were encouraged to reflect on how we listen, express ourselves, and build understanding in our daily work.
We are grateful to Ecpat Luxembourg for this valuable learning experience. It was a timely reminder that strong communication lies at the heart of meaningful social work.

Sunita Foundation organized a Financial Literacy and Interaction Program in Sindhupalchowk, Melamchi, as part of building the Women Empowerment Network.
The network was formed to support the women in becoming confident, financially independent, and capable of creating positive change in their communities.
During the program, participants learned practical financial skills and budgeting, discussed ways to coordinate with local stakeholders and government, and explored how to use resources wisely for the sustainability of the network. They also shared experiences, built confidence, and found inspiration to uplift themselves and others.
This program is a step toward creating a community of self-reliant women who can inspire change and contribute to a stronger, sustainable future.
