Continuing its ongoing engagement with Child and Adolescent Club members of Dupcheshwor, Nuwakot, Sunita Foundation conducted another awareness training session on Anti-Human Trafficking.
The session was carried out in a simple, participatory setting, focusing on helping children and adolescents understand the risks around them and the importance of staying informed and alert.
The discussion aimed to build their awareness so they can protect themselves and share key messages within their communities.

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, a community-based awareness program on labour rights and human trafficking was conducted at Melamchi Municipality Ward No. 4 with the participation of women’s groups, students, teachers, female community health volunteers, and health workers.

The program highlighted the connection between labour rights and human trafficking, emphasizing how lack of awareness, unsafe migration, and exploitation can increase vulnerability to trafficking. The interaction aimed to promote informed, safe, and dignified opportunities within the community.

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, an interaction and panel discussion program on Labour Migration and Women’s Rights in Nepal was successfully organized in Kathmandu on 08 May 2026 through a joint collaboration between Sunita Foundation, WOREC, WOFOWON, Tarangini Foundation, Purple Foundation and Nepal Mahila Ekata Samaj.
The program began with welcome remarks and reflections on the purpose of the event by Swostika Danuwar, Managing Director of Sunita Foundation.
The discussion created a meaningful space for activists, media professionals, researchers, and organizations working in the field of labour migration to come together and reflect on the realities faced by migrant workers especially women whose labour often remains unseen, undervalued, and unrecognized.
Speakers highlighted the importance of gender equality, state accountability, social protection for workers, and the need to recognize women’s contribution with dignity and respect. The interaction also emphasized the power of collective voices and continued advocacy in making labour migration safer, more dignified, and more visible.
Altogether, 35 participants attended the program. The speakers included Deputy Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, Maya Devi Sharma; senior journalist Sunil Nyaupane; Bhim Shrestha from Shramik Sanjal; and Nilam Sharma from Purple Foundation, facilitated by WOREC.

Sunita Foundation (SF) is now seeking applications from qualified and dedicated Nepali citizen
for the below position.
1. Position- Admin Assistant
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Brief Job description:
The Admin Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to
ensure the smooth functioning of the office. The role involves documentation, coordination
with government offices, and support to program and finance teams. The position requires
visits to local government offices and occasional participation in program activities and events.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelors running
• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience (experience in NGO/INGO preferred).
• Must have proficiency in Nepali typing.
• Good knowledge of administrative procedures and government processes in Nepal.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel).
• Willingness to travel within and outside Kathmandu when required.
• Must have a valid driving license and own a two-wheeler vehicle.
