**𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞**

Youth Innovation Lab, as a part of TheYouthCAN.org, in collaboration with Mercy Corps, and Aasaman Nepal, organized a five-day residential training in Bardibas from 16 to 20 March 2025. The program brought together Climate Fellows and municipal officials from nine project municipalities, along with representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Communication, and Law, Madhesh Province, to enhance their capacities in strengthening climate and disaster-related plans and policies.

The sessions featured participant-led technical training, GIS mapping exercises and discussions on integrating gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) into disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) strategies aiming to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to support data-driven decision-making, planning, and budgeting for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

The training concluded with a special session on Youth, DRR, and Climate Governance with Rosalba Tuseo from the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, who emphasized the importance of youth leadership in climate governance and disaster risk reduction and the program concluded with closing remarks from Pradip Khatiwada, Executive Director of YI-Lab.

**Day 5: Residential Training to Climate Fellows and Municipal/Provincial Representatives**

The final day of the residential training featured a participatory Community VCA at Shanti Tole, Bardibas-8, followed by discussions and feedback on the findings among experts and participants.

A special session on Youth, DRR, and Climate Governance with Rosalba Tuseo from the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal emphasized the importance of youth leadership in climate governance and disaster risk reduction and the program concluded with closing remarks from Pradip Khatiwada, Executive Director of YI-Lab.

Designed for Climate Fellows and municipal officials, the training aimed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to support data-driven decision-making, planning, and budgeting for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

The 5-day Technical Training on the Bipad Portal, Vulnerability Capacity Assessment (VCA), and the Local Disaster and Climate Resilience Framework (LDCRF) for the 4th cohort of Climate Fellows kicked off on 16 March 2025 in Bardibas, Madhesh.
10 Climate Fellows and DRR Focal Persons from 9 project municipalities, along with representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Madhesh Province, are participating in this residential training.
On Day 1, participants were introduced to key DRR terminologies through interactive games and familiarized with the Bipad Portal and its modules. Participants also learned about GEDSI in DRR for inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
