MANUSHI is a non-governmental and not - for - profit organization fully committed to assisting and generating suitable services and opportunities for the backward, down trodden groups of the community and particularly women and children. It is has been more than a decade since MANUSHI has been actively involved in social development; addressing several social issues and enabling the successful imp
lementation of related projects and programs, through mobilizing internal and external resources. Since its inception, MSD has contributed to its cliental groups and has also played the role of catalyst for other institutions/NGOs working in the field of women, development, gender and women/ human rights. Its competencies include addressing the prominent social issues relating to health, education, environmental protection and preservation, while continuing the discourse on the sustainable socio-economic life of communities and their self reliance. Designing of projects and implementation approaches/methodologies emphasize participation of the target group and strong advocacy for the "rights" base approach particularly for women and children. These are the strengths of this organization in keeping with the goal of social development in a sustainable way. It creates potential for growth and expansion in view of knowledge dissemination and skills transformation for the welfare and wellbeing of cliental groups as well as society as a whole, in the changing context of Nepal in particular. The organization has competently undertaken programs and projects relating to the various issues of the community, for their development. MANUSHI is a registered organization, in accordance with the Organization Registration Act 2034 of Nepal. It is also affiliated with Social Welfare Council, an umbrella entity of the Government that supports and protects NGOs on behalf of the government of Nepal.
