Introducing our esteemed trainers for Rato Bangala School Model Federal Assembly (RBS MFA).

Prarthana Thapa Chhetri is a lawyer, youth leader, and policy advocate passionate about good governance.

Priyanka Pokhrel is a law grad who somehow ended up being obsessed with how power actually works in our federal system. She works around governance and youth leadership, and as Model Federal Parliament trainer, she is here to make sure we don’t just “act” like MPs but also question why things work the way they do, and who they really work for.

Ashish Poudyal has been an active member of the YFD team for over half a decade, contributing across multiple dimensions of the organization’s work. He is currently associated with Bajra Law and Associates, where his focus lies in intellectual property and branding, environmental sustainability, and foreign government consultation on model laws and legal reviews. Alongside his professional endeavors, he has been conducting capacity-building trainings for young people through YFD for more than five years.

Aarshee is an enthusiastic law student, legal researcher and co-founder of Safe Healing Nepal. Known for her lively personality, she enjoys learning French, exploring Pinterest for creative inspiration, and has a deep love for animals especially horses . Her drive to grow personally and professionally motivates her involvement in YFD.

Democracy works through a chain that connects citizens and their representatives.
Sovereignty starts with the people → transferred by consent through voting → entrusted to representatives who act on behalf of all.
The manifesto is the social contract between citizens and leaders. By voting, we give our consent to these promises, expecting them to shape policy and law.
At the heart of it all lies trust 🤝—leaders must earn it, and citizens must nurture it. Democracy is strongest when both walk together.

Become a Volunteer for “Project मतदाता: Sovereignty in You”

Nepal’s democracy is growing, but many people, especially youth still don’t fully understand their right to vote or how elections work. Lack of awareness about voter registration and electoral processes means some voices aren’t heard, and that’s a gap we want to close.

Youth in Federal Discourse (YFD) started “Project मतदाताः Sovereignty in You” to educate communities, promote electoral literacy, and encourage active participation in democratic processes. The goal is simple—empower citizens to understand their vote and take part in shaping Nepal’s future.

We can’t do it alone. We need passionate volunteers like you to step up and take action in your own communities. As a volunteer, you will:
-Raise awareness about voter registration through community-based campaigns.
-Conduct electoral literacy activities in your community.

Anyone aged 16 or above can join. No experience is needed-just your willingness to make a difference.

Today, on Constitution Day, our team went to the streets of Basantapur and fortunately, we got to engage with the children there. We listened to their thoughts on what the Constitution means and provided them the copy of the Constitution to be further aware about the authority that protects their rights and freedoms, because every young mind deserves to know the power of our Constitution.

Youth in Federal Discourse (YFD) is an organization designed to give a platform to youths in understanding the new federal setup of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal along with the concept of inclusive democracy, good governance, and rule of law. We strongly believe that youths are the catalyst of change for betterment in society.

We envision establishing a better opportunity for youths to develop their interest, enhance their knowledge about the concept of federalism, discuss different national policy level issues, and become responsible Nepali citizens. YFD aims to foster the knowledge of federalism and the parliamentary process in Nepal.

YFD is committed to identifying the potential of youths from different backgrounds.
