Youth in Federal Discourse (YFD) is an organization designed to give a platform to youths in understanding the new federal setup of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal along with the concept of inclusive democracy, good governance, and rule of law. We strongly believe that youths are the catalyst of change for betterment in society.
We envision establishing a better opportunity for youths to develop their interest, enhance their knowledge about the concept of federalism, discuss different national policy level issues, and become responsible Nepali citizens. YFD aims to foster the knowledge of federalism and the parliamentary process in Nepal.
YFD is committed to identifying the potential of youths from different backgrounds. Our fundamental aim is to empower young minds by facilitating intellectual and proactive mediums and channelize their acquired skills to support the local community and the nation. YFD is a non-profit, social organization working as a think-tank for Nepal.
1) To acquaint youths about the proceedings of the federal, provincial, and local level legislative process through workshops, seminars, and role-playing.
2) To provide opportunities for youths to address the needs and concerns of the community.
3) To identify and encourage the role of youths in decision making.
4) To create a network of experts, civil society members, and youths working in the field of federalism, democracy, administrative matters, and the rule of law and develop good relations between them.
5) To develop professional and leadership skills.
6) To provide a platform for public discourse among elected representatives and youths.
7) To engage youths in social service through different projects.

संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्रात्मक शासन व्यवस्थाको माध्यमद्वारा दिगो शान्ति, सुशासन, विकास, समृद्धि र कानुनी राज्यको आकांक्षा पूरा गर्न, युवा वर्गलाई संविधानमा निहित संघीय शासन प्रणाली अन्तर्गतको राज्य संरचना, राज्य शक्तिको बाँडफाँड तथा विकेन्द्रीकरणको अवधारणाबारे शिक्षा दिई संघीय शासन प्रणालीलाई सुदृढ गर्ने मुख्य उद्देश्यका साथ “संघीय बहसमा युवा” स्थापना गरिएको हो ।
यस संस्थाको उद्देश्य देहाय बमोजिम रहेको छ :
क) युवाहरुलाई कार्यशाला, सेमिनार र भूमिका निर्वाह कार्यक्रमहरुबाट सङ्घीय, प्रादेशिक र स्थानीय सरकारको व्यवस्थापकीय प्रकृयाको बारेमा जानकारी गराउने ।
ख) युवा वर्गलाई आफ्नो समाजको आवश्यकता र सरोकारका विषयमा सम्बोधन गर्न पाउने अवसर प्रदान गर्ने ।
ग) राज्यको नीति निर्माण र निर्णय प्रक्रियामा युवा वर्गको भूमिकाको पहिचान गरी उनीहरूलाई प्रत्यक्ष वा अप्रत्यक्ष रूपमा संलग्न हुन प्रोत्साहित गर्ने ।
घ) संघीयता, प्रशासनिक मामिला, लोकतन्त्र, विधिको शासन आदि क्षेत्रमा कार्यरत विशेषज्ञ, नागरिक समाज र युवा वर्गबीच सुमधुर सम्बन्धको विकास गर्ने ।
ङ) युवावर्गमा व्यवसायिक र नेतृत्वदायी सीप विकास गर्ने ।
च) निर्वाचित जनप्रतिनिधि र युवा वर्गबीच सार्वजनिक हकहितको विषयमा छलफल तथा अन्तर्कृयाको लागि वातावरण सिर्जना गर्ने ।
छ) सचेतनामुलक र सहाभागीतामुलक कार्यक्रमको माध्यमबाट युवा वर्गलाई सामाजिक सेवामा संलग्न गराउने ।
