Our Story
Huhtikuusta 2016 nepalilaisena yhteistyökumppaninamme on toiminut SHE Nepal.

Maya Nepal association is a Finnish religiously and politically uncommitted association, based on voluntary work. Maya Nepal Home was founded for children who were saved from other children's home which was abusing them. Respecting locality is one of the main values of Maya Nepal association and working is based on equal co-operation with Nepalese partners.
Maya Nepal ry has a children's home with 15 children in Naraynthan, Kathmanu, the capital of Nepal. The main aim is to secure permanent, loving and homely environment for children to grow up. In addition the association is helping eight young people with their education and their lives while attempting to improve children’s rights in Nepal. The work is mostly funded by member fees and profits from events. All the funds are only used for costs of housing, the education of children, the salaries of workers and the basic needs of the children (food, health care, hygienic and so on). Except for the dispatching cost of the banks, all the money is used purely for the good of children!
The aim of the association is to work with children who need help. We are trying to improve the lives of children who are living on the streets and in children's homes, while trying to spread the knowledge of children’s rights in Nepal and in Finland. The goal is to spread the idea of a common world, common responsibility and the position of the children in Nepal. In addition we are trying to intervene in situations of children’s rights abuses in Nepal, where even getting to a children's home does not guarantee a secure childhood. Within all our work we highlight the principles of sustainable development.
Since April 2016 our Nepalese partner has been SHE Nepal.
