On September 18th, 2026
Annual Review Meeting 2082/83 was successfully held, bringing together representatives from the Division of Healthcare Services, Public Health, Academics, Research, Networking and Partnerships, and other key programs.

The meeting provided an important platform to review the year’s achievements, reflect on key challenges and learnings, share program highlights, and discuss priorities for the year ahead. It also strengthened collaboration and coordination among the different teams and programs.

A proud moment for phect-Nepal was the recognition of Sr. Consultant Prof. Dr. Shankar Man Rai, who was honored in Massachusetts, USA, for his global leadership in surgery and lifelong dedication to the education and mentorship of health professionals worldwide.

Prof. Dr. Rai’s remarkable contributions have made a meaningful impact on the field of surgery and exemplify outstanding global surgical leadership. His achievement is a matter of great pride for phect-Nepal and the wider healthcare community.

Today (Sept. 14), Kirtipur Hospital opened an upgraded, child-friendly pediatric ward on the occasion of National Children's Day. The hospital handed-over wellness-related materials to children admitted to the ward. phect-NEPAL ED Mr. Gauri Pradhan board member and community representative Mr. Ram Man Singh, hospital medical director Dr. Nijina Tamrakaar, AFC Dr. Basant Maharjan, pediatric department head Dr. C. N. Shah, and heads and representatives of other departments, matron Ms. Sangita Maharjan Shrestha, and chiefs of central departments of phect-NEPAL were among the participants at the opening program. The upgraded pediatric ward was designed to be child-friendly, with space for play and entertainment so children can feel happy and comfortable. The upgraded ward includes a separate council room, a private cabin, a wide nursing service desk, and an open play and entertainment room for children besides the impatient children's ward.

On September 11, 2026,
Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol donated medical equipment and a cheque to Kirtipur Hospital to support burn treatment. The assistance was handed over during a special program organized at the hospital, reflecting the Metropolitan City’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and support to burn victims. On the occasion, phect-NEPAL Executive Chairperson Dr. Bharat Kumar Pradhan and Executive Director Mr. Gauri Pradhan presented a letter of appreciation to Acting Mayor Ms. Dangol in recognition of her generous support to Kirtipur Hospital.
