Earth Day Network India is looking for an experienced Forestry Management Expert to support plantation, ecological restoration, agroforestry, and biodiversity conservation projects across Eastern India.

📍 Location: Eastern India (travel to rural and remote project sites)
📄 Engagement: Project-based consultancy

We're seeking candidates with experience in forestry management, plantation planning, ecological restoration, or biodiversity conservation, along with strong knowledge of native and climate-resilient tree species. Applicants should have excellent documentation and report-writing skills, experience working with rural communities and local stakeholders, and be willing to travel regularly.

- A qualification or relevant experience in Forestry, Botany, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in English and Bengali is essential; knowledge of Assamese or Odia is an advantage.
- Prior experience in the Sundarbans, West Bengal, Odisha, or Assam is strongly preferred.

This is not a full-time position. Consultants will be engaged on an assignment basis, depending on project requirements.

Happy Birthday to our EarthDay.org Ambassador, Ricky Kej 🎉🌍💚

Today, we celebrate not only an extraordinary musician and environmental advocate but also someone who continues to inspire millions through his unwavering commitment to our planet.

This year has been filled with remarkable milestones—from travelling along the ancient Silk Road as part of the UNCCD Silk Road Caravan, where science, conservation, and hope now travel together, to reconnecting with Indigenous leader Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, delivering the opening keynote at the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists in Hohhot, China, and experiencing the rich nomadic traditions of Mongolia.

He also brought people together through music by performing "One With Earth Song" at Oxford, UK—a powerful collaboration with the tribal singing farmers of India, inspired by a 3,000-year-old melody. Most recently, Ricky continued his work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador during his visit to Inner Mongolia, championing the protection of our shared home.
