EarthDay.org Regional Director Asia, Mrs Karuna Singh was at ICIMOD to discuss the global theme and the likely focus for next year. The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre founded in 1983, serving the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalaya region – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan. We look forward to collaborations to strengthen climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihoods across the fragile Himalayan region and the communities that depend on it.

Earth Day Network-India commends the Ministry of Earth Sciences Government of India for holding an Innovation Meet for Startups and Entrepreneurs. Through the Earth Care Awards Young Climate Champions 2.0, presented by The Times of India and JSW Group, Earth Day Network-India reached out to 200 colleges across India with orientation sessions on climate change to strengthen climate literacy among young people and inspire students to join the green economy and present innovative, scalable solutions that drive measurable positive change.

🌍 Environmental Awareness Programme Conducted in Gaya, Bihar, on Earth Day 🌱

On the occasion of , an environmental awareness programme focusing on environmental protection and the dangers of single-use plastic was successfully conducted in Gaya, Bihar, under the leadership of Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Scout Leader Trainer.

The initiative engaged children in meaningful discussions and activities aimed at promoting sustainable habits, responsible waste management, and the importance of protecting our planet for future generations. Students were encouraged to reduce the use of plastic and become active participants in building a cleaner and greener environment.

Earth Day Network-India thanks our Coordinator Rituraj Thakur for these meaningful events in Bihar.

The Earth Care Awards Young Climate Champions 2.0, presented by The Times of India and JSW Group, with Earth Day Network-India as the outreach partner, are coming up this month.
Earth Day Network-India conducted 200 orientation sessions all across India. 🌱 Single-Use Plastic Free Campaign Successfully Conducted in Begusarai 🌱

Under the joint initiative of Earth Day Network-India and the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Begusarai, the Plastic tide turners challenge " Plastic Warriors,Bihar", led by Rituraj Thakur, successfully organized a Single-Use Plastic Free Campaign at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Begusarai.

More than 500 students and teachers actively participated in the drive and collected over 2 quintals of plastic waste, sending a powerful message about environmental protection and community action. All participants were honoured with Plastic Warriors badges in recognition of their efforts.

The campaign also encouraged children to adopt the spirit of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” and inspired them to become true Plastic Warriors for a cleaner and greener future.

🌍 Let us all work together to keep our environment clean, safe, and sustainable!

On Earth Day, The Bharat Scouts and Guides demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental conservation through the National Level Environment Awareness-cum-Coastal Trekking Program in Gujarat. 🌍💚

Participants not only explored the importance of Ayurvedic plants and trees but also took meaningful action by cleaning plastic and man-made waste from the Arabian Sea coast, reinforcing the message of protecting our planet through collective responsibility. 🌱♻️
