CECI is excited to invite applications for the Programme and Inclusive Governance Lead role for the SAMA-SAMA Project in Nepal.

This role is responsible for driving the project’s effectiveness and results, and for leading the technical implementation of the inclusive governance strategy in Nepal.

Key responsibilities include overseeing overall project performance; ensuring high-quality delivery and outcome achievement; supervising project teams and partners; fostering effective partnerships with stakeholders; and ensuring the strategic and operational effectiveness of inclusive governance (IG) interventions, as well as full compliance with project and regulatory standards in Nepal.

CECI Nepal, in collaboration with FTGN, supported 26 women from marginalized groups (Dalit) in Kakrahawa, Gadawa rural municipality of Dang District to generate income through climate resilience sustainable integrated farming practices. They are currently producing their own environmentally friendly organic pesticide (jholmal) and using non-chemical pest traps in their vegetable farming. They also avoid using plastic cups and instead reuse paper cups to grow vegetable seeds.

Today (5 January 2023), CECI and the National Inclusion Commission (NINC) co-hosted a Consultative Meeting for Inclusive Governance and Social Justice with Development Partners. The purpose of the meeting was to brainstorm ways for development partners to co-create and collaborate on a common agenda of inclusive governance and social justice with NINC. Honorable Dr. Ram Krishna Timilsena, NINC Chair, chaired the workshop. The event provided a forum for development partners to share their understanding of inclusion issues and express their commitment to collaborate.

Under the COREL project, CECI Nepal and its partner organization Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra (RRPK) in collaboration with the local government organized a one-day camp to distribute Disability Identity Cards in Godaita municipality and Kaudena rural municipality of Sarlahi district on the 14th and 15th of December, 2022 respectively. The project was successful in educating people with disabilities about their rights to obtain Disability Identity Cards and assisting them with the application process. CECI Nepal works to combat poverty, exclusion, and inequality.

Under the COVID-19 Recovery and Livelihood (COREL) Project, CECI-Nepal, in collaboration with partner organization Rastriya Rojgaar Prabardhan Kendra (RRPK), provided bamboo chair making training to the most vulnerable population of Kaudena Rural Municipality in Sarlahi District. The project aims to improve the resilience capacity of the most vulnerable section of society by implementing a variety of activities related to skill and capacity development, income generation, and the revival of self-employment activities that had been stopped due to COVID-19.
