थप 👉 www.tamuhyula.org.np Our organization, Tamu Hyula Chhonj Dhin Gurung Rastriya Parishad (The National Council House of Tamu) was established on 2065 BS (2009 AD), with its head office based in Kathmandu. It is an independent, non-governmental, non
-profit and apolitical organization devoted to the upliftment of the Gurungs through the enrichment of their language, culture, ‘Tamu pye-Tan, Lhu-Tan’, and economy. This is an umbrella organization under which more than 65 district committees and over 60 independently registered Gurung organizations are working actively in collaboration with like-minded organizations both within the country and abroad. The birth of Tamu Hyula Chhonj Dhin Gurung Rastriya Parishad was the result of a resolution, the Chitwan Declaration 17 Chaitra 2065 BS (30 May 2009), this itself an outcome of the historic Tamu National Unification General Convention held in Chitwan from 15-17 Chaitra 2065 BS (28 to 30 May 2009 AD). It saw the merging of the two national level Gurung organizations, the Tamu Chhonj Dhin 2049 BS (1992 AD) and the Gurung (Tamu) Rastriya Parishad 2057 BS (2000 AD) into one entity to better serve the interests of Gurungs. At this Convention both the organizations, burying their past hatchets, came to an understanding and realized the need and importance of a unified Tamu entity. Thus, these two organizations agreed to come together under one central leadership to better serve as the umbrella organization for all the other Gurung organizations.
