The main goal is interactive education and ECC hopes to achieve that through extensive training workshops with teachers

Our very first Curriculum Night at Sapana School ❤️📚

Last week, we invited parents school to learn about what their children will be studying this year and how we can best support them together.

Parents heard directly from teachers about learning goals, content, activities, and expectations for the year ahead. In communities facing extreme poverty with uneducated parents, parent involvement in school is incredibly important. When families and schools work together, children thrive!

Events like this are rare here, but at Sapana we believe parents are partners in their child’s education. We are so grateful our school can ensure children are supported at home as much as in school.

New water tap in campus!! A water tap may seem like a small thing. But at Sapana School, it is changing daily life for our students. 💧

For the first time ever, our campus has a running water tap! And not just 1 but 5! Students can get a drink, wash their dishes, clean their hands, and cool off during the hot school day.

Our students do not have running water at home. They have to walk to communal water sources and carry water home in heavy jugs. Something as simple as turning on a tap feels like a huge luxury.

No more washing in buckets or fearing we will run out of water to drink. This tap means better hygiene, better health, and more comfort for our students every single day.

Our 1st-4th grade students had a special treat this week- a science experiment taught by the 8th and 9th graders!

Grades 8 and 9 were learning all about the scientific method and designed their own experiments to do with lower grades. Our big kids led experiments such “does it sink or float”, “what objects can roll?” and “which objects make the biggest noise”. Not only did they get practical experience with scientific learning, they also got practical experience with teaching!

We’re so proud of all our young scientists 🧑‍🔬 👩‍🔬

Meet our newest JK class!

It’s always so exciting to welcome a new JK class of 16 students on campus. These little cuties have never been to school before and it brings us such happiness to know that Sapana School will be all they ever know. From now until they graduate high-school they will be safe, loved, and supported.

So far in the past 2 weeks they’ve worked on learning to follow simple directions in English, holding pencils, coloring for the first time, and singing songs with their new friends. We can’t WAIT to see what the future holds for them!

Welcome to the Sapana family JK. We’re so happy you’re here ❤️

2 years of Sapana Community School 💛

What started as a dream is now two years of real impact!

For two years, children have had a safe place to learn, grow, and discover what they’re capable of.
Two years of confidence built, opportunities created, and futures changed.

This is a glimpse into that impact—through the voice of one of our students.

None of this exists without this community.
This is what 2 years of belief and love can do ❤️

We can’t wait to see what year 3 brings!

First week of the new academic year at Sapana ✅

41 new students joined us this week and experienced countless smiles, and so many “firsts.”: First playground, first warm meals, first STEM class, first storybooks, first time feeling loved by teachers, and lots of laughter along the way. Watching them experience the Sapana magic is incredible!

Sapana is back—full of love, joy, and learning that feels like fun for all our 215 students.

One week down, many more to go 💛

OPENING DAY YEAR 3! Yesterday, Sapana community School opened its gates for the start of our 3rd academic year!

In Sapana tradition, the students were welcomed through the gates with cheers, hugs, and high fives by all our teachers and staff. Our brand new JK students entered the gates first.

Welcome back to our previous students and a huge welcome to our 41 NEW students this year! We’re ready for another incredible year of changing lives ❤️

What a night ❤️

On Sunday, we hosted our 4th ECC Dinner Benefit—our biggest event yet.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and continues to believe that every child deserves education, safety, and a future. I (Janie) am truly blown away by the outpouring of support from the St. Louis community. There were many tears shed, all because of your generosity.

I can’t wait to return to Nepal this week and share the news: our students will always be safe, Sapana School has incredible support, and they have hundreds of people around the world cheering them on.

A huge thank you to our Board of Directors for making the night possible—from setup to speaking to handling every detail behind the scenes. And even willingly embarrassing themselves in front of 120 people..You are the heart of ECC.

Dherai Dhanyabad to our entire ECC family for making dreams come true every single day ❤️
