The annual conference commemorating the 137th anniversary of Bir Hospital took place in the heart of Kathmandu city, showcasing a legacy of dedication to healthcare. During this event, the Daya Foundation’s (DF) Board and team proudly presented the Nursing Excellence Award to five outstanding nurses, while also honoring five additional nurses for their remarkable service of over thirty years.
This prestigious nursing award, named after late Indra Kala Mathema, Patron of Daya Foundation and first Matron of Bir Hospital in the 1960s, recognizes the exceptional contributions of nurses who have excelled in patient care.
The event was efficiently managed, with the nursing directors and management team ensuring a timely start to the program. A key message emphasized the hospital’s commitment to providing affordable and subsidized healthcare services to the community. The celebration also attracted department heads from various other hospitals and institutions, highlighting the collaborative spirit within the healthcare sector. Founding member and past president DF, Keepa Mathema Handa, leading the health sector, was invited to hand the awards along with DF President Meekha Mathema and Founding Member past president Neeva Pradhan were honored to join in the award ceremony along with DF board Sanil Joshi Rishiram Neupane, Health sector Senior Program officer Binju Shakya. It was wonderful to see smiles on well deserved award recipients.
