Meet Bhikshu Nayako🙏

Bhikshu Nayako is a Maha Sthavir and a practitioner deeply devoted to the study and practice of the Buddha's teachings.

His Mul Bihar is Bishwo Shanti Bihar, Nayabaneshwor, Kathmandu, and he is currently residing at Dhammaram Bihar, Godawari, where he continues his journey of learning, teaching, meditation, and guiding others.

Through years of dedicated study and practice, he has received the titles Kovid and Samadhi Palaka, recognizing his knowledge and dedication to Buddhist teachings and meditation practice.

A life devoted to learning, teaching, and cultivating mindfulness and meditation.

Today, at Daya Foundation’s historic home, Daya Chhen, Ombahal, we celebrated Indra Jatra Nakhté: with our members, guests, friends and family, and fellow cultural enthusiasts.

Youth groups from the “Culture Through the Eyes of Youth” , the main theme of Daya Foundation Culture sector, shared their talent through poetry recitation, talk on the significance of culture from their viewpoint, art and music. The program which was short and vibrant was well received by all.

It was a celebration of culture, tradition, art, and community. We had conversations around our culture, shared the story and background of Indra Jatra, and on Paubha Art.

The program continued with poetry, followed by the beautiful sounds of the Basuri and Madal as we enjoyed traditional Newari tunes together.

With everyone coming together, sharing stories, enjoying music, and celebrating our heritage, Daya Chhen was filled with a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the evening.

A beautiful day of Culture, Community, and Togetherness.
