International Domestic Workers Day | अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय घरेलु श्रमिक दिवस

Domestic workers care for our homes, children, older persons, and families every day. Yet many continue to work without fair wages, written contracts, social protection, or legal recognition.

In Nepal, domestic work remains largely invisible and undervalued, despite its essential contribution to families, communities, and the economy. Domestic workers deserve the same rights, dignity, and protections as all other workers.

Today, we stand in solidarity with domestic workers and call for:

✅ Recognition of domestic work as work
✅ Fair wages and decent working conditions
✅ Protection from violence, exploitation, and abuse
✅ Weekly rest and reasonable working hours
✅ Social security and legal protection
✅ Progress toward the implementation of international labour standards, including ILO Convention 189

घरेलु श्रमिकहरूले हाम्रा घर, परिवार र समुदायलाई सञ्चालन गर्न महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका खेल्छन्। तर अझै पनि धेरै घरेलु श्रमिकहरू न्यून ज्याला, असुरक्षित कार्य वातावरण, लामो कार्य समय, र कानुनी संरक्षणको अभावमा काम गर्न बाध्य छन्।

YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS 2026

ICA Nepal is pleased to announce a series of Youth Leadership Development Programs designed for young people who are eager to learn, grow, and strengthen their leadership potential.

Participants can choose to join one or more of the following training programs:
1. Youth as Facilitative Leadership through Social Artistry (2–4 July)
2. Courage to Lead for Youth Empowerment (23–25 July)
3. Rewiring Your Brain for High Performance (6–8 August)

Interested participants are requested to complete the registration form and select the training program(s) they wish to attend.

ICA Nepal encourages youth from diverse backgrounds to apply and take advantage of this opportunity for personal growth, leadership development, and meaningful engagement.

ICA Nepal, in collaboration with ICA Canada, successfully conducted the “Reflection and Storytelling Workshop on Courage to Lead.” We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, senior guides, facilitators, and partners whose presence and dedication made this event a remarkable success.

The workshop provided a valuable platform for self-reflection, open discussions, and shared learning. The workshop highlighted that true leadership is not about having all the answers but about being willing to reflect, learn, and grow. Each discussion encouraged new ideas, and every moment of reflection helped participants gain deeper understanding and valuable insights.

ICA Nepal successfully concluded the "Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Development" training for women workers. It was filled with active teamwork; participants worked closely in groups to discuss monthly budgeting, expense management, health, and their roles at home. Learning from and shared stories. Through lively discussions and a shared reflection session, everyone took ownership of their learning, wrapping up this wonderful journey with smiles and a celebratory dance!

आज, बाल श्रम विरुद्धको विश्व दिवसको अवसरमा, हामी प्रत्येक बालबालिकाको सुरक्षित, स्वस्थ र सम्मानजनक बाल्यकालको अधिकारलाई पुनः स्मरण गरौँ ।

Empowering Women Workers Through Knowledge!

ICA Nepal is organizing a three-day training program on "Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Development" for women workers.
Participants focused on the essentials of saving, accounting, expenses, and income. It was a day filled with interactive learning; everyone shared their personal stories and learned from each other's experiences in the group discussions.

We look forward to another impactful day of learning tomorrow.
