The Differently Able Youth Organisation (DAYO) Nepal

The Differently Able Youth Organisation (DAYO) Nepal AYO vision is to establish social justice, maintain human rights and achieve equal opportunities for differently able people.

The Differently Able Youth Organization Nepal (DAYO Nepal) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, non-political social organization registered under Society Registration Act 1977 in Kathmandu District Administration Office in 2008. This organization has been established with the mission to unite differently able youth (physically challenged people), to empower them through a variety of programs in

order to shift the current negative perspective towards disabled people towards a more positive and inclusive one. Since DAYO's creation in 2008, it has been working to promote self-reliance amongst differently abled youth through free vocational training in computer & mobile repairs, literacy training program and basic education for children who are differently able or come from a background of differently abled families. Furthermore, DAYO also provides a support base for differently abled youth who have suffered discrimination, inequality and hardship on a day-to-day basis and has promoted their rehabilitation into Nepal's society. DAYO Nepal is made up of 50 members, 10 of which make up the board and whom are in some way differently abled themselves. The remaining are general members who are both differently abled and able-bodied. Together we are working towards improving the lives of disabled in Nepal.
