Gratitude and Appreciation

The Nepal Geological Society (NGS), sincerely expresses its profound gratitude to Mrs. Sara Neustadtl for her generous contribution of USD 5,000 as the first installment toward the establishment of the Peter Molnar Foundation, created in honor of Prof. Dr. Peter Molnar, an eminent geophysicist whose pioneering work significantly advanced the understanding of Himalayan tectonics and geodynamics.

NGS further extends its heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Dr. Mary Hubbard for formally handing over this contribution to the Society and for her continued support and encouragement to Nepal’s geological community.

The interest generated from this fund, along with additional resources to be mobilized in the future, will be utilized to support thesis research of young geoscientists. The detailed modality and operational framework of this support mechanism are currently under discussion.

This initiative stands as a meaningful tribute to the enduring scientific legacy of Prof. Dr. Peter Molnar and reflects a shared commitment to nurturing future generations of geoscientists in Nepal.
